Chapter 11: A Screaming Match

It was New Years Day Cassidy woke up around 8AM. Her dad and Winnie both got called in over night and Bucky didn't come in till 3 that morning. She got herself up and dressed she picked up all the dirty clothes in her room. She sat her basket outside the bathroom and picked up all the dirty towels and put them in her basket.

She quietly went into Bucky's room she picked up all his dirty clothes. She carried both baskets downstairs and sat them in the laundry room. Before she did anything else she made her self a bagel with cream cheese and coffee.

When she finished her breakfast she started some laundry. She began to make Bucky breakfast when she was done she put it all on a breakfast tray and carried it upstairs. She also put a bottle of water and Tylenol on his tray.

When she got in his room she sat it on his night stand.

"Bucky?" She whispered

"What.." he said half asleep.

"I made you breakfast." She said in a low tone

He rolled over and wiped his mouth. "You made me breakfast? Why?" He said as he sat up.

"Because you are hung over." She said

He took a bite of his toast. "You cleaned my room?" He said when he saw all the clothes picked up.

"No I just picked up all your dirty clothes. I will need your bed clothes later." She said

"Cass.." he said

She turned around. "Did you at least make some for you?" He said

"I had a bagel earlier. I'm fine." She said then walked out.

Bucky looked down. "Cassidy Jane.." he said to himself

Once he finished up his breakfast and popped in Oxy instead of Tylenol for his hangover. He took everything downstairs he rinsed his dishes and put them in the dishwasher.

"Cass?" He said

She opened the farmhouse sliding doors to the laundry room.

"What?" She said

He came into the laundry room to see her folding their parents bed stuff.

"Are you okay?" He said

"I'm fine."she said

"Cassidy if this is some delayed anger cause I said that I didn't want to be with you after that night I'm sorry. You seemed fine I didn't mean to hurt you." He said

She shut the dryer door after she switched loads.

"It's not delayed anger." She said as she started a new load in the washer.

"Then what is it?" He said

She just kept throwing clothes in the washer.

"Cassidy seriously. Come on just tell me what this new look and personality is about? Because right now it's like someone sucked the life right out of you and replaced you with this boring ass nerd." He said

She just continued to ignore him. He went to wrap his arms around from behind. Cassidy tensed up so fast and froze.

"Cassidy? Cass? Cassidy look at me..hey look at me. Snap out of it." He said as he went to stand in front of her. He snapped his fingers in front of her face.

She finally snapped out of her frozen state. "Please don't do that again." She whispered

"Okay..but you know damn well I would never hurt you." He said

She looked down.

"I have to get ready for basketball practice. Are you gonna be okay?" He said

"Yeah. I like being alone." She said as she carried their parents basket out of the laundry room.

Bucky sighed as he followed her out.

Later that night after Winnie and Mitchell came home from work with Bucky in tow from practice. The house looked spotless Cassidy took down all the Christmas decorations and the house smelled like stir fry. Mitchell went into the kitchen.

"Well look at you. See I told you that medicine would help." He said

"Dad this isn't cause of the medicine. This is me trying to keep myself busy from thinking about that night and having bad thoughts. Now dinner is ready where is James and Winnie." She said

Winnie came in and laid her stuff on the counter top. "James will be down in a minute honey. He went to take a quick shower." She said

"Okay." She said

"The house looks great though." Winnie said as she and Mitchell made plates.

Bucky came in and made his plate. They all ate as a family. But Bucky kept looking over at Cassidy the whole time trying to figure out what happened to her. When dinner was over and she cleaned up Bucky went to do his drugs.

About an hour after dinner she was sitting in her room. She was watching tutorial videos with her air pods in to figure out how to knit. Bucky walked in when she didn't answer when he knocked.

She jumped when she seen him in front of her she paused her video and took her air pods out.

"Can I help you?" She said

"What's going on with you? You are never like this." He said

"And I have told you repeatedly that I don't want to talk about it. Why do you keep pushing it? I don't ask you every day what's going on with you why you disappear for days?" She said

"I don't want to talk about me. I want to talk about you! I don't understand everything was fine then suddenly you disappeared then when I find you. This is what I get some one who has the same name as CJ Baxter but clearly she is a imposter cause the Cassidy Jane I know would never do this to her hair. Wouldn't be caught dead in her glasses at school." Bucky said in a raised tone.

"This is who I am now! So just fucking letting it go!" She yelled at him

" yeah this is who you want to be now? Little miss Suzy homemaker. Who what were you doing when I came in." He said as he took her iPad

"Learning to knit! My god what the hell happened to you?" He said as he saw her video.

"It's my life James! And what my secrets are is none of your damn business! So get the hell out of my room and don't come back in here! I was nice to you today and I didn't have to be!" She yelled

"Fine! You know what! Fuck you Cassidy I was just trying to be a friend to figure out what has you so down in the dumps lately! But all I ever get is You shutting down. So screw you and your secrets!." Bucky said as he tossed her iPad at her and walked out slamming the door behind him.

Cassidy began to cry as she sat in her hanging chair. Bucky went into the theatre room and turned on a movie. Winnie and Mitchell looked at each other.

"What has him in this constant bad mood?" Winnie whispered as they went back to their movie.

"Teenagers baby." Mitchell said as she cuddled back up in his chest on the couch.
