"Explain this." turo ni tita sa kwarto ni Daniel
Yes, my new roommate was Daniel and we were both surprised that we see each other here. I know he didn't expect me here dahil no one knows that I'm living here.
"Its my way of surprising and welcoming my new roommate tita" pilit akong ngumingiti at nag peace sign pa ako kay tita but she just glare at me.
"A hellcoming surprise rather" I heard him laughed and nakitawa na lang ako.
This is embarrassing and awkward!
"Tell me, may kinalaman ka ba sa lahat ng nangyayari dito Rachel kaya lahat ng tumitira dito ay umaalis lahat?"
I slowly nodded and she sighed in disbelief. She is now disappointed to me.
"I'm sorry tita" I sincerely apologized.
"Wag ka sakin mag sorry, kay Daniel ka mag sorry dahil tingnan mo ang ginawa mo sa kwarto nya." Napahilamos na lang si tita sa mukha nya
"Uhmm tita bakit kasi lalaki makakasama ko dito?" I asked trying to divert the topic.
"I don't have any choice dahil itong room 80 lang ang may vacant room and naawa ako sa students na hirap maghanap ng malapit na matutuluyan and buti na lang itong si Daniel nag take ng risk kahit ang daming bad rumor about sa kwarto na 'to."
She is mad, I can feel it that she is mad and now I felt sorry for tita dahil sa mga kalokohan ko nagkaroon pa ng bad rumor sa isa sa mga rooms dito just because of me.
Napatingin ako kay Daniel at parang may gusto sya sabihin pero di makasingit kay tita dahil patuloy ito sa pagsermon sa akin.
"I'm really sorry Daniel, I'll call Thelma to clean the mess that my Rachel did."
"It's ok Madame..." nakangiting sabi ni Daniel
Tita was about to call ate Thelma pero pinigilan ko sya. "No need to call ate Thelma, Tita"
Tita was looked at me and having that questioning look all over her face.
"Ako nagkalat so ako din maglilinis, at this hour maybe ate Thelma was resting and I don't want to disturb her. Let me fix his room." I sincerely said.
Nagtataka pa din na nakatingin sakin si Tita pero I gave her an assuring smile kaya napatango na lang sya at umalis na dahil may gagawin pa sya. She even look at me before she leave just to warn me that I need to behave.
When I heard the door was closed nahihiya na napatingin ako kay Daniel.
"I'm really sorry Daniel" I sighed.
"It's okay, Rachel. I understand you." he smiled at me at nagtaka naman ako sa sinabi nya
"Uh---Uhmm did tita say something to you?" nakayukong tanong ko and I'm hoping that my tita didn't say anything to Daniel, well I know tita will not say anything but you know, just in case.
"Sabi nya lang sakin, you don't want to share this room to anyone." at nilibot yung paningin nya sa room na 'to.
I sighed dahil akala ko sinabi ni tita lahat kay Daniel
Kinuha ko na yung cleaning material at saka sinimulan linisin lahat na nasa kwarto nya at tinulungan ako ni Daniel kaya mabilis nalinis yung kwarto nya. Napaupo na lang ako sa couch nang nalinis na namin lahat.
Nakakapagod.
We both stare at the door ng marinig namin na may kumakatok.
"Ako na magbubukas." sabi nya at hinayaan ko na lang sya.
