Whodunnit [An Interactive Wattpad Cluedo Game]

Introduction & How This Works

What is Cluedo?

Cluedo (or Clue) is a well-known murder mystery board game. The aim of the game is for players to determine who murdered the game's victim, the place of the murder and the murder weapon used. Each of the game's players takes on the role of one of the six suspects, with the aim to deduce the answer by moving around the board and collecting answers from each of the other players.

What is 'Who Dunnit'?

'Who Dunnit' is a high school murder mystery activity. Like with regular Cluedo, your aim is to work out which of the six given suspects is the murderer.

We'll write the story and you'll uncover the answers.

How This Works

This activity will take place over the course of two weeks (see 'Schedule' chapter). On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays of those two weeks, we'll be posting new parts of the story, in order to aid you in unravelling who the murder is. It won't be an easy ride: expect many questions, answers, and red herrings along the way.

Once the newest part has been posted, you will be able to select the direction you'd like the story to take, and which characters you'd like to investigate. As an extra non-compulsory option, you can submit questions to ask characters. Not all questions submitted will be answered in the following part(s), but we will do our best to incorporate as many questions as possible.

In order to select the story's future direction and the characters you'd like to investigate, each time a part is posted we will provide you with a link to a google docs form in which you can vote on this. The form will be open for 12 hours (until 9pm UTC+1 on the same day the story part is posted). This form also gives a section in which you can optionally ask characters questions, should you wish to do so.

The next part will be written based on the most popular plotline and character investigation options selected by you - the community.

How does the form work?

After each part has been posted, you will have 12 hours in which you can vote (via a form) to help influence the story's direction and to uncover the murderer.

We have included a sample form below. The storyline and characters in this sample are not the ones which will be used in the actual activity.

Form - Section One

Here, we'll ask for your Wattpad username (in order to verify that users have not voted more than once). We also ask you to vote on the direction you'd like the story to take.

Form - Section Two

In this section, we ask you to vote on the character(s) you'd like to see showcased in the next chapter (i.e. the character(s) you'd like to investigate). We also give you the (optional) opportunity to put questions forward to each of the characters.

The content of the future part(s) will depend on the most popular form responses from each time the form opens.

We may not be able to incorporate all the questions asked to the characters in the story, but we will include as many as we are able.
