Empty praise and hollow excuses are all he gives to her, while telling her how much it would benefit him, how happy he would be for her to do his bidding.
She restrains her words, maybe because of the love she has for him, and not the dread of what the consequences might come to. Or perhaps because of her kind nature, and not as a result of her cynicism towards him.
Alas, her basis does not matter, whereas the end result is the same.
