I might of said this before but this story takes place after the battle with the kishin in the anime. Please ask questions if naything I'm saying doesn't make sense :)

Maka, we have to go!" Now!" said Soul, trying to encourage Maka to regain movement back in her feet.

However, Maka knew that asking her father to spend a weekend with her would be easier than moving at this point. Maka slowly tried moving her feet, centimeters at a time, in an attempt to move towards the church. Right. Left. Right. Left. She repeated these words in her head as if she was learning to walk all over again.

As the two descended the stairway of the building to reach the street, where Soul's scooter was, they both tried to grasp what had just happened.

First about 50 souls. Then no souls. Then one soul. No souls. 50 souls. One soul. 50 souls. No souls.

Neither wanted to believe the fact that 50 souls just vanished into thin air. And they especially didn't want to admit that the last soul Maka felt was Crona's.

When the two finally reached the ground, Soul took Mama's hand.

"Maka. Listen to me!"

Maka turned her head towards Soul.

"What?"

Soul took a deep breath and continued.

"There's no way to say it to you easy. So I'm just going to be straight with you. Crona's most likely on the edge of becoming a kishin. You know Crona better than anyone else and you probably knows what she's feeling right now."

Maka nodded her head. "Yeah. Knowing her and everything she's gone through, she would want her last moments to be in a place that means the most to her. The place where we first met all those years ago."

"Exactly. And the only people that could possibly help her out right now are Ms.Marie, Kid, and you. The only three people that actually took the time to fully understand her. Kid's in the hospital right now and Ms.Marie is who knows where right now. Even if we knew where she was, we wouldn't have time to go find her and explain what's going on. You're the only one that can talk some sense into her and save her right now. Sure, we're all friends but it's meaningless if it doesn't come from someone who she knows won't lie to her and tell it to her straightforward. You're the only one that can do this Maka!"

Soul pulled Maka into a hug and embraced her as if she would disappear.

I understand you're scared. But can't you see Maka? So am I. Can't you feel my arms shaking? There's no denying that Crona's strong. That means that if the situation calls where we have to fight her, we'll have to fight with all of our strength. No holding back."

Soul sighed and paused and almost couldn't belive that he was going to continue with what he was going to say. But Maka needed to hear it.

"The situation might even call for us to kill Crona."

Now he had her full attention. Maka struggled to get out of Soul's grasp. She couldn't believe what Soul was saying to her. There was no way that either of them could ever kill Crona.

By now, both Soul and Maka had tears rolling down their faces. Ever since Crona came into their lives, everyone had learned to look at life just a little differently. Tsubaki learned that there's always a reason to smile. Patty learned that you always have friends (both real and imaginary) that love you. Liz learned that everyone (even herself) had room for improvement. Even BlackStar learned (to a degree) that being on top isn't any fun if you're alone. Kid learned the most. He learned that it's okay to open your heart to others and to let people see your weaknesses. But most importantly, he learned how to fall in love for the first time. In the short time that Crona had attented the DWMA, she had not only taught others to be more accepting, but also how to accept herself.
