Chapter 23

The cold wind touches my skin. I grip the hem of my sweater and soon I hug myself.

Looking up on the stary night I unconsciously smile.

It's been a month already. The last Ber month is waving too.

I wonder how is she?, since the last time I went to her unit I never went there again. I never tried to call her too for I want her to know that I'm really giving her the time to think and reconsider everything I wanted in the first place.

I sigh and went inside my room. I close the door to my mini terrace and went to my bed.

I sit there and look intently at the invitations that was scattered in the whole bed sheet.

I'm a little bit excited because it's gonna be a masquerade party.

Dahan dahan ko ng niligpit iyon dahil bukas ipapamigay kona iyon sa mga taong gustong iinvite ni Dad.

Sabi ko sa kanila ni Mom I don't want a party but Dad insisted that he wants to see me wearing a gown which is weird kasi naman dati okay lang kahit ayaw ko magpaparty.

Pagkatapos ko maayos ang lahat nahiga na ako at natulog.

Masaya akong bumaba at naabutan kona man silang masayang nag uusap sa dining area.

This is what I've wanted , to let them be back to their old self. Sweet and caring sa isa't isa.

"Good morning po!"

"Good mood ka yata?"-baling ni mama sakin

"Let me guess. Pumayag naba si Kate?"- si Dad na may nakakalokong ngiti sa mga labi.

I manage to pull a smile even tho deep inside I felt hurt and empty. Because since the last time I did talked to her she herself didn't bother to talk to me.

Parang pabor pa sa kanya na hindi nako nagparamdam.

Hindi naman alam ni Mom na ang rumored mistress ni Dad before at si Kate ay iisa. Hindi naman kasi nya nakita ang mukha nito duon sa mga pictures na kumalat.

"Ahm yung invitations po ididistribute kona mamaya"

"Just let your secretary do it. Magpunta ka sa stylish mo at magpasukat kana"

"Okay po"

Kumain na kami ng tahimik. Paminsan minsan napapangiti ako kapag nakikita ko na ang sweet nila.

Sana all diba?

Habang nasa sasakyan ako hindi ko mapigilan na hindi kalikutin ang phone ko.

Iyon ang headline and there was a picture of Jospehine and Alejandro inside the said restaurant.

Napairap ako at walang ganang binagsak sa tabi ko ang phone ko.

I lean back and close my eyes for a moment to calm myself.

Am I jealous?, I can't breath.

Kaya ba hindi manlang nya ako nagawang kamustahin sa loob ng isang buwan? Kasi busy sya sa so called ex nya?

Ako nag iintay tapos sya lumalandi?

I felt betrayed kahit pa sabihin wala naman kami.

I mentally slap myself and bit my lower lip. Hindi dapat ako nanghuhusga. Baka may rason kung bakit sila magkasama.

Knowing Jo she hates it when I'm accusing her.

"Ma'am nandito na po tayo"

Napalingon ako at nasa harap na nga kami ng botique ng designer ko.

Bumaba nako at pumasok sa loob.

Kanya kanya naman lingon sakin ang mga sales staff at nagtutulakan pa kung sino ang mauunang kumausap sakin.

I give them a pleasing smile so that they won't get nervous.

"I'm looking for Ms.Jessica"

"Ahm tatawagin ko po Ma'am. Maupo po muna kayo"

"Thank you"

I gracefully sit down and cross my legs.

Hindi nakaligtas sakin ang pagpasada nila ng tingin sa katawan ko.

Sanay nako. May mga babae talagang obvious na obvious kung makatingin sa kapwa nila.

"Athena!"- narinig ko na ang boses ni Jessica.

Napangiti ako at bumeso sa kanya.

"My 24th birthday is approaching. I want you to make me a simple gown but somehow catchy okay?"

"Sure. Invited bako dyan?"

"Are you coming?"

Nilabas na nya ang pangsukat at nginitian ako.

"It depends.."- she trailed off.

"See? wag na"- I joked at hinampas naman ako nito ng mahina.

Natapos akong sukatan and by next week pwede ko ng balikan ang damit ko dahil wala naman daw syang gaanong gagawin that's why she will do mine.

After visiting the botique I decided to go to the office.

I gave all the invitations to my secretary.

"Make sure that everything will be given to the rightful person that is invited okay?"

"Yes Ma'am"

Lumabas na ito ng office ko at sinimulan ko ng magtrabaho.

I'm too focused with what I'm doing that's why I'm surprised when I heard something..

The door of my office suddenly open and I almost throw my flower vase to the unwanted guest.

"Babe!"

Isang nakakaasar na boses ang narinig ko mula kay Alfred. Idagdag mo pa yung gwapo nitong itsura na para sa akin ay nakakabwiset.

Before I could react nahalikan na nya ako sa pisnge at nilapag ang paper bag na dala nya para sa akin.

At iyon ang naabutan ayos ni Leil kaya naman ang gulat nitong ekspresyon ay nasundan ng babaeng babaeng tili na masakit sa tainga.

"OH MY GOODNESS TANYA!"- she exclaimed after.

"Fudge!"
