Peter wished he would be able to talk again. No, he didn't. Yes, he did. He almost groaned in frustration but stopped himself. No, Peter, no noise, be quiet. He couldn't talk. Well, he could, but he wouldn't. Why? Well, the beginning is important to knowing why.

It started with Happy. Peter got in the car after school, and immediately started talking. After a few minutes, Happy shut the divider. Peter frowned and stopped. He pulled out his phone and homework and played music, starting his homework. What Peter didn't know was that Happy had a major headache and needed silence.

Next it was Tony. Peter bounded into the room, and started talking. Tony listened for a little and then shushed him. Peter frowned and stopped talking. He went back to his work. What Peter didn't know was that Tony hadn't slept in days, and had to finish his project that night and needed to focus.

Next were the Avengers. During Dinner, Peter started talking. Soon, Wanda told him to be quiet. Peter frowned and stopped talking and ate his food. What he didn't know was that she was sick and was on the verge of passing out.

Then it was May. Peter got home and started ranting. May soon held her fingers to her lips. Peter frowned, stopped talking and went to bed. What he didn't know was that May was waiting for an important phone call that she couldn't miss.

Then it was Ned and MJ. During lunch the next day, he was rambling and Ned told him to stop. He frowned and ate. What he didn't know was that Flash was listening in on their conversation.

This would happen multiple times a week, each time for a different reason. Peter didn't know though. He got in bed one night and decided to just be quiet.

The next morning, he got up without a word. May greeted him and he smiled. She looked at him in confusion. He gestured to his throat, basically saying that his throat was too sore to talk. May got the idea. He ate breakfast and went to school. When he got there he waved to Ned and MJ. They walked up to him and tried to strike a conversation. He didn't speak and they asked him what was wrong. He gestured to his throat like earlier that morning. They quickly got the idea and only asked him questions he could nod or shake his head.

At the end of the day, Happy picked him up. Instead of talking, he got out his phone and started his homework. Happy looked in him through the mirror, confused. He just shrugged it off and drove. Peter ran inside the tower and up the elevator. He went to the lab and waved at Tony. Tony waved back, smiling. Peter sat down and started his work, silent. Tony was concerned and asked him what was wrong. Peter gestured at his throat again, and Tony nodded. Soon, it was dinner time. Peter sat down and the others waited for conversation to start. It never did. They looked at Peter in confusion. He pointed to his throat and they understood. He went home and went to bed.

This repeated for over months. He always had the excuse of his throat being sore or he lost or he hurt it in patrol. Clint taught him some sign language. It was close to 8 months of not speaking that the story started at. The Avengers were concerned. Their favorite Avenger hadn't talked in two months. They all decided to find him and get him to talk. They barged into his room while he was sleeping. They decided that he needed rest and walked out. "Friday, when was the last time Peter spoke. Here and at his apartment and school," Tony requested. Friday was silent for a moment and answered, "Just over eight months ago." They all looked concerned. They decided they would talk to him in the morning.

The next morning, Peter got up and the Avengers were waiting for him. He smiled and waved. They waved, but didn't smile. They called him to sit down on the couch. "You're not going to school today," Natasha said. Peter started to open his mouth but caught himself. They looked slightly satisfied. He went back to his room and jumped onto his bed and cried. Soon he came out. Natasha saw him and pulled him into her room. Nobody had ever been there. Peter was stunned when he saw a fort at the side of the room. She pulled him into the fort. Inside was a small ballet studio. Had she knew that he had taken ballet for years? He looked around in wonder. Natasha sat down in the middle of it. Peter came and sat pretty much in her lap. "Listen Little Spider, You can talk to me, you know that?" Nat said. Peter sniffed and nodded. "Speak, let your heart out. Nobody can hear us. Tell me why you stopped talking," She soothed, while running her fingers through his hair. Peter grunted and cleared his throat. "Y-you guys t-think I'm annoying," he whispered, his voice hoarse. "Baby, we don't think you're annoying. What do you want to do? Do you want to learn to dance with me?" Natasha soothed and asked. Peter nodded and they stood up. Natasha got her shoes and Peter ran to get changed. He ran back in a second later in a T-shirt and leggings. Natasha smiled at the sight of a Happy Peter. "How much do you know, Peter?" She asked. "T-Took b-ballet for 6 y-years. Got pretty good," he whispered, still trying to get his voice back to normal. "Stretch first," she instructed. Peter walked to the wall and out his leg above his head. "Trying to show off now are we?" She laughed, and did the same thing. The Peter slid down to that he was almost at a 90 degree angle. Her eyes widened. "Wow, show off," she said. He sent a teasing smiled in her direction. He slid out of that position and they began to stretch. Soon, Natasha found some music and they began to figure out a routine. In an hour, they got the routine and had Friday film the finished copy. They got into their starting positions and the music started. They danced their hearts out, and by the end, they were out of breath but happy. He stood for a minute and Peter ran and hugged her. "T-Thanks мама пуак," Peter whispered. She hugged him back and whispered a 'your welcome.' "You know you can come here anytime. Hell, come get me at any time to dance, okay?" She said. He nodded. They walked out of the room. Peter ran and got changed and they walked into the living room. They sat on the couch and Natasha turned on the TV. "What do you want to watch, spider?" She asked. He started to say something but spotted the others and stopped. The others were watching in curiosity. "Помни, что я сказал, паук. Они не думают, что ты раздражаешь" Natasha said. (Remember What I said, baby spider. They do not think you're annoying). Peter nodded. "S-stranger Things," he whispered. Natasha gave a satisfied smile and turned on Stranger Things. The others were about to say something, but Nat sent a glare in their direction. They shut their mouths. After Peter had been asleep for a little bit, they came in and asked Nat for answers. "He thinks you think he's annoying, so he stopped talking. Don't know why but," Natasha whispered. They furrowed their brows. "Friday, pull up any footage that could have triggered this," Tony whispered. A holoscreen popped up. The first day when Happy shut the divider. Then Tony. Then Wanda. Then May, and Ned and MJ. This repeated often. Then the screen shut off. "He didn't know the real reasons," Natasha said. "You need to get your trust back to him. It may be hard but I got him to trust me," Natasha informed them. "Fri, show them the dance," Natasha whispered. The screen popped back up, this time with the dance. They watched it and saw their favorite Avengers be happy for the first time in a while. "Talk to him one on one, do something he loves with him, and he'll slowly start trusting you again," she whispered. They nodded and went to bed. Natasha smiled at the sight of her little spider sleeping. She fished out her phone, snapped a pic. She slid out Peter's phone and got Ned and MJ's numbers and sent them a text explaining everything. Soon, she fell asleep too.

The next morning, Peter woke Natasha up. "Мама паук, it's t-time to get up," he whispered. She opened and eyes and saw doe eyes staring at her. She smiled and they got up. "How are you doing with getting your voice back to normal?" She asked. "Meh, I still h-have to w-whisper," he whispered. She nodded. Soon the others came into the kitchen. Peter smiled and waved. Natasha sent him a glance. "Oh, uh, g-good morning," he whispered. Tony rushed over and gave him a hug. Peter froze and then hugged him back. "Why are you whispering?" Tony asked softly. 'I haven't talked in eight months,' Peter signed, due to a real sore throat and strain. Clint translated and Tony nodded. They went and sat down at the table. Steve made some omelets for them. Peter shoveled it all in his mouth, and ran to get dressed. He emerged in new clothes with his backpack and more. 'Bye' he signed, cause he couldn't yell to them yet. He rushed down to elevator and into the garage where Happy was waiting. Nat had sent him a text too. "Hey Peter," Happy greeted. "H-hey Happy," he whispered. Throughout the ride, Happy tried making small talk with Peter. He try to would answer and his voice slowly got stronger. They arrived at school and Peter ran inside. "Hey Peter!" Ned yelled to him. Peter got closer and said, "Hey N-Ned," In a slight whisper, still stuttering. Ned sent him a happy glance. "I-in class s-should I talk or s-sign?" Peter asked Ned. "They won't be able to hear you, so both maybe?" Ned suggested. Peter nodded. The bell rang and they ran to class. The teacher started attendance as soon as the second bell rang. "Peter Parker?" The teacher called, looking up to look for sign language. "H-here," Peter said as loud as he could, which wasn't very loud, and he signed. The teacher nodded and kept going with attendance. In classes this would go on, but Peter didn't raise his hand for questions, out of habit. At lunch, MJ joined them. "H-hey MJ," Peter whispered. She looked up for her book with a soft smile. And then kept reading. The rest of the day followed similarly. When he got home, Tony greeted him. Peter smiled. "Why don't we build with LEGOs or whatever today," Tony suggested. Peter's eyes widened and he nodded. Tony told him to change and meet him back here. Peter ran off to do so. When he returned, Tony lead him to a car and they climbed in. 'What are we-' he started to sign before he remembered what Natalia had said and that Tony couldn't understand asl.
