CHAPTER 58 [Happy for him]:

Pearl's POV.

"Post - traumatic amnesia or PTA is a state of confusion that occurs immediately following a traumatic brain injury or TBI in which the injured person is disoriented and unable to remember events that occur after the injury. The person may be unable to state their name, where they are, and what time it is."

"There are two types of amnesia. The first one is the retrograde amnesia, it is loss of memories that were formed shortly before the injury and the second one is anterograde amnesia, it's a problems with creating new memories after the injury has taken place. PTA may refer to only anterograde forms, or to both retrograde and anterograde forms."

Nasa school kami ngayon at kasalukuyang nagkaklase.

"Sir, I have a question." napatingin ako sa babaeng nagtaas ng kamay.

"Yes, Ms. Servantes?"

Napakunot ang noo ko.

O_o

Ibang klase.

-_-

Napailing ako.

"Ano pong causes ng PTA?"

"Hmm.. good question.. Causes include head and brain injuries, certain drugs, alcohol, traumatic events, or conditions such as Alzheimer's disease. Anterograde amnesia means that the person can't learn anything new, while retrograde amnesia means the person forgets events from their past."

"Yes Ms. Servantes.. but.. if may nangyari lang na head injury or pwedeng dahil sa stress, drugs or traumatic events. That's retrograde amnesia."

"Good question again. In most cases of amnesia.. it resolves itself without treatment. However, if an underlying physical or mental disorder is present, treatment may be necessary. Psychotherapy can help some patients. Hypnosis can be an effective way of recalling memories that have been forgotten."

ಠ_ಠ

Hmm.. mukhang 'di naman siguro. May Eiron na 'yan eh.
