Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles🏁

Being the wife of a NASCAR driver is pretty exciting. You get to see your husband live his dream, visit different cities, and occasionally celebrate in victory lane, but every once in a while my own job gets in the way of traveling with him so I have to watch him from our TV screen, which is okay but I would much rather be where he is.

"Y/N, thank you for covering for Kelli this weekend, I know you had plans with your husband." Alissa my supervisor said stepping into my office. "You know me, always doing what's best for the company." I said with a halfhearted smile. It was the end of my shift and right about now Jimmie should be settling in his motorhome and relaxing before tomorrow's race. "I know, well you have a good rest of the day and I'll see you tomorrow morning!" I finished packing my thing and practically sped home. I just wanted to get home and curl up in bed and FaceTime Jimmie.

Our shared home was so quiet when he wasn't home. It was usually filled Jimmie and I's loud laughter or long in depth conversations. I met Jimmie several years ago when I attended Homestead and was introduced by a mutual friend. We had hit it off immediately and I knew he was the one. We're so compatible and never run out of things to talk about. We can hold hour long conversations about virtually anything, movie theories, racing, friends, and recently the idea of expanding our little family into a family of 3. Smiling at the idea of hearing little footsteps running around the house I was greeted by the doorbell ringing.

"Delivery for Y/N Johnson." A delivery boy about 18 said holding a bag of takeout and a bouquet of roses. I knew once I saw the roses I should've assumed it was Jimmie behind all this but curiosity got the best of me. "I'm sorry I didn't order anything" I said with a small smile. "We know, your husband called and asked us to deliver this." The kid said handing me the flowers and the bag. "Have a nice night ma'am" I went inside and placed the flowers in a vase with fresh water and couldn't help but take a deep breathe at the yummy scent coming from the bag on the dining room table. I quickly plated the food and set an iPad in the middle of the table. Glancing at a mirror to make sure I looked alright before I video called my wonderful husband.

"Hi there sunshine! You look beautiful today, how was work." He said with a smile. He was sitting at the motorhome's table with the same dinner food in front of him. "Work was good, I miss you honey! How was your flight, everything okay?" He nodded "Flight was good, I'm glad I made it safe, I miss you too, wish you were here." He's the sweetest man I've ever met. "Aww honey, don't get me all sappy. Thank you for the flowers. I really love them." He chuckled "Yeah, I knew you would. I was hoping we could have dinner together so I ordered your favorite! Bon appétit" He said gesturing towards my plate. "What did I do to deserve you?" I said taking a bite of my dinner. "I should ask you the same question, everyone was asking for you earlier today." He said sipping what I assumed was a glass of wine, this man really is my husband. "Aww how sweet, what did you tell them?" "I told them you were at home with the kids." He said with a chuckle and I nearly choked on my own glass of wine. "Now that's just cruel Jimmie" I said wiping my lips and laughing. "You should have seen the look on guys' faces! I told them I was joking of course but it was pretty funny." He said enthusiastically, but then his face had developed a look like he wanted to say something. "I know that look, what's going on honey?" I said starting to get concerned, part of me wanting to run and pack a bag to fly out and be next to him. "You know Y/N, we ain't getting much younger and well I've been doing some thinking...I think it's time we start trying to have some kids. I know we've brushed on this in the past but seeing everyone at the race tracks every week, sharing moments with their wives and kids. Well I really want that, I understand if you don't and I won't pressure you or anything but I just wanted to bring it up." He said with a hopeful smile waiting for my answer. "Jimmie I, I would love nothing more than to have a baby, but that means I would have to leave my job to focus on a pregnancy. I'm not sure if I could hold the idea of not bringing in some sort of income for our household and leaving it all up to you" I was now overthinking everything but my attention was brought back to my husbands face on the iPad screen. "I don't mind. You and I both know I make more than enough for the both of us and a few kids. Don't think about that, I just want you to decide if you're down to be a mommy." The thought of carrying a baby for 9 months and having that baby grow up and call Jimmie and I, mommy and daddy, well I couldn't help but tear up. "Yes, absolutely yes! I want to have a baby with you!" I said happily to Jimmie who was tearing up. "I'm so glad you said yes, I wish I could hug and kiss you right now!"

We both smiled from ear to ear the rest of the night as we finished our dinner and got into bed. In just 2 days I would see Jimmie again and we would begin to try for a baby. My life with him is completely hectic but I wouldn't want it any other way.

"Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right"
