ext. Bonita's house - night

Twelve years have passed and the girls are living in a community together in California. Each of the girls married and had kids of their own living the life their parents wanted for them. We see that Bonita had a son and named her Jeffery in honor of the man who leads them to their justice. We see that the girls also had daughters of their own and they too became best of friends just like them. It's the night before the girl's 12th birthday. Bonita, Lorena, and Josie are sitting down, recounting the story of their 12th birthday to their daughters and what lead to the life they are living now. The little girls then go off to watch the stars together. Bonita, Josie, and Lorena watch the girls outside.

Bonita

If Jeffery were here to see this...

Josie

He would say that nothing changes with us.

Lorena

It was for the better that nothing changes between us.

(Bonita turns to face the girls)

Bonita

You want to go join them and watch the stars?

(Josie and Lorena smile)

Josie

I would like nothing more.

The background fades as we see Bonita, Josie, and Lorena joining their daughters to watch the stars.
