#11 Back at The Plant

Y/N's POV
"Ugh...." I groaned as I open my eyes. Seems like I fell asleep on the wooden floor. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I still felt a little sleepy from the nightmare I had. I yawned and stretched my arms. I reached for my phone that is on my nightstand. I unlocked my phone to see it's 10:45 a.m. and it's a Friday today, so that's means I don't have to go to the station today. Which also means... I let out a sigh and went over to where my bag is. I unzipped it to see Mr. P's missing case file. I took it out and opened it. Last seen sighting: Military Plant.

"Case open."

I eventually arrived at the military by bus, because I don't have my driver's license yet. I walked into the base, the military does look much tidier now at least. The walls all are repainted. And from what I remembered, the holes in the ground are gone. Hmm, and I still don't know where the soldiers come from during the infection.

"Hey! You there!" I jumped. One of the soldiers is walking towards me. "What is a kid like you doing here?!" She yelled. "Oh! Umm, sorry for intruding but I'm here on an investigation." I smiled and took out my police badge, showing it to her. After seeing my badge, she seems embarrassed and apologetic for jumping into conclusions. "Sorry about that... I didn't know you were an officer. At least, you don't dress like one."  The female soldier said. Well, I'm wearing a sky blue hoodie and a white skirt that went to my knees. I chuckled. "It's a Friday, so I don't want to be too formal." She nodded her head in understanding. "I'm Skylar. One of the recruits here."  "Y/N," I said simply. 

"Sky?" We both look above us and saw another soldier. He's probably a little older than Skylar. He came down the stairs. I noticed that half of his face is...burnt...? "Sky, what are you doing here? You should be with the other recruits." He said furiously. "Sorry, bro. I'll go there right now." Skylar turns to me and smiled. "Good luck, Y/N." She said running off.

The older soldier turns to me, slightly staring at me up and down. Oh please don't be one of those creepy perverts... I pleaded in my head. He must've noticed me very uncomfortable and took a step back. "My apologies. I didn't mean to stare at you. You just seem familiar..." 

"Well,... Will this click your mind a little bit?" I ask as I took my police badge out again. He snapped his fingers. "Ahh! You're Y/N! The one that saved us all." I just nodded. "My name's Spencer and it's a pleasure to meet you. What brings you here?" I took out the case file that is in my bag and showed it to Spencer. "I'm here to figure out where Mr. P is. And stop him once and for all." I said confidently. Its time to forget all my fears for now. The community is never safe when he's on the loose. 

He just smiled at me. "You survived a whole infection, found a cure, and running a fundraiser for the carnival. I'm sure you can track down that potato in no time." He said patting me on the shoulder. I smiled brightly at him. Getting motivation from someone makes me feel more confident about doing something. And it also kinda pressures you more, knowing that you can't mess this up either. "Thanks. I'll do my best." "Here, I'll show you to the electricity plant."

"Here it is," Spencer said. I'm back here once again. I eyed up and down the plant. It's still a little burnt from the explosion two months ago. Memories here started to flash through my mind. "Calm down, it's just a plant. Nothing to worry about." I said to myself. I start to walk into the plant. "Be careful in there," Spencer said. I just nodded. 

The inside of the plant look all messed up. Just like how I've seen it last. boxes scarred all around, and a lot of things burnt from the explosion. I still have no idea how did Mr. P survive. I stopped walking because I heard footsteps. I even heald my breath.  Silence. I must be hearing things... I look around the place. Everything is untouched. Except for one thing... I was confused so I start to approach it but before I could, I heard something go off. It sounds like gas leaking. 

I gasp and covered my mouth. I need to get out! But I seem to trip on something and fell to the ground. I cough weakly out of the taste of chemicals. I try getting up but my vision went blurry and I ended up passing out on the floor.

Doggy's POV
I was working on my computer, at the station when the station's phone went off. Poley picked it up and I got curious. Because we don't usually get emergency calls these days. "911. what's your emergency?" I heard him said. My desk wasn't too far away from the front desk, so I can hear pretty well on what's going on.

"Yes...Oh uhh... We'll be right there." And he hung up. I walked over to the front desk. "Who was that?" He just looked puzzled for some reason. "We need to head to the military base." "Why" Poley just shrugs. "The leader form the other line said that... it's hard for him to explain. So we need to go there ourselves." I was a bit confused but Poley and I went anyway.

Terrence's POV (aka tocher)

"How are we going to tell them this?!" Spencer panicked. I pace around the meeting room.  Why was there gas in the plant? That place was sealed off. Even if we didn't check if there are any dangerous chemicals left in there. I just sigh and look at Spencer. "You go help the others with the leaking gas in the plant. And leave the talking to me."I said calmly. I was kind of freaking out inside. But I had to keep my cool. 

 Spencer salutes and left the meeting room. After a few moments, the officers had arrived. "Hello officer Doggy, officer Poley." I greeted. They seem confused about what's going on. "I saw some soldiers at the plant wearing masks. Is something wrong?" Poley asks. "There seems to be a leak of gas in the plant. But you're not here because of that." I started. Doggy suddenly widen his eyes. "Cadet! She said she's coming here for an investigation. Where is she!? Is she alright?!" He panicked. 

"Officer, please calm down. Your protégé is fine. She's just..." "...What?" I took a breath. I don't know how he'll react but... it's right for them to know. "Skylar, bring her in."

oof!!! Sorry I had to do this lol. What do you think happened? And a little fun fact: This chapter was inspired by a situation with my friends I had during the last two days. So credit to them I guess for giving me this idea. I'll explain everything in the next chapter. Good day!
