Chapter 8: The Throwback part 6

Monday 30th November 2009

Lucy's POV:

It was my 15th Birthday and I was really looking forward to today. My mum was making me my favorite dinner and Benji would be coming around for the evening as well.

We had been with each other for nearly a year and it was the best. We had just finished celebrating Benji's 15th Birthday and I paid us to go to the zoo for the day together. We definitely had the greatest day together.

I didn't want to do much for my birthday so Benji was just going to come around my house after school for dinner.

He really wanted to do something else but I insisted that having dinner at home with him and my family meant a lot to me since it was something that we tried to do every year.

I was on my way into school when I spotted all of my friends, Millie, Maddox, Isaac, and Benji all stood and began singing happy birthday to me and I suddenly felt so embarrassed but so grateful for my massive group of friends.

Isaac and I eventually spoke in the end and decided we should just be friends and he was happy about me and Benji being together as well which was all I could ask for.

When I got closer we all broke out into a burst of loud laughter and everyone started giving me my presents. They were all very sweet and after a while, they all started to make their way to class leaving me and Benji alone.

"I wanted to give you my present in private,"

Benji hands me a little box with a red ribbon wrapped around it and I just grinned back at Benji's nervous face. We sat down on the bench together and I began to unwrap the small box whilst Benji began rambling on.

"If you don't like it I can take it back and get you something completely different but I really hope you like it but if you don't like it then don't be afraid to tell me,"

As I opened the small box what I saw inside took my breath away.

As Benji still continued to ramble on I slowly lifted the necklace out of the box inspecting it more thoroughly. It was a beautiful silver necklace that had a single strand hanging down in the middle. It had something engraved in the middle but I wasn't sure what it meant.

It looked like it was morse code but I wasn't entirely sure but I knew that I loved this necklace.

"Benji this is beautiful,"

"Really? the middle bit is morse code for strength because Lu you are the strongest person I know and I think you just need to be reminded of that sometimes,"

I can't say anything at that so I just hug him so tightly.

"I love you, Lu,"

"I love you too Benji,"

we pulled back from the hug and Benji took the necklace gently and I turned around so he could put it around my neck for me and he did it up.

It was truly the best present I had ever received and I just knew that I never wanted to lose this boy because he is the best person I know.
