13. Human Again

Inaayat's POV

I wake to the sound of breathing that doesn't sound like my own. It's heaving, like a man and rapid as if he's run into the room. I listen still, trembling. He's moving slowly, his heavy feet creaking floor boards that are silent for me

"Inaayat you're awake, thank god" He said

I smiled.

"How are you feeling? " Kabir asked

"Alive I guess" I said sitting straight. "How many hours have I been out for? "

"6 hours" He replied.

"Here have this tablet" He said as he gave me one

"Yuck it tasted so bitter" I said gulping it down.

"Here have something to eat" He said offering me

" What is this ? Like seriously!! "

"Menemen is a traditional Turkish spread consisting of tomatoes, eggs, onions, peppers, and various spices. There are many version of menemen, so it can also contain garlic, cheese, spinach, or sausage pieces" He explained

I sighed

"I'm giving you a very basic Turkish breakfast Mrs soon to be Zadeh" He said taking a bow.

"Innu"

I heard a familiar voice

"Karan? " I said

"Damn you scared me.. " He said as he hugged me

"Karan your hugs are suffocating" I said as he pushed me back into the bed

"You're not even 0.01% romantic, you know" He said

"She has to be romantic with me and not you luthra" Kabir said

"Sure IshaqZadeh whatever you say" Karan said getting out of the bed

"Acha Amy is asleep, we kind of you know.. "

I threw a cushion at him.

"You came here to solve a case or to celebrate your honeymoon? " I asked

"Whatever Innu I still love you " He said blowing a flying kiss towards me

I guarded myself from that imaginary kiss by pulling Kabir in between.

"Aarav and Taarni have gone out for shopping, I'll be in my room if you want something" He said

"I have a meeting to attend Mrs Zadeh" Kabir said rising

"Kabir?" I called out

"Haan? "

"Don't mind but mujhe Mrs Zadeh math bhulao" I said

He gave a fake smile

"Sure Miss Reza" He said

Soon he left and I was all alone when my phone began to ring

"Hello? "

"Inaayat it's me Arjun" He said

"What do you want Sharma? " I asked irritated

"Inaayat there's a bad news" He said

"What is a worst news than you calling me up right after I woke up! " I asked

"Not the time for jokes Inaayat" He said when I heard Rishab's voice

"Inaayat, it's me Rishab" He said probably snatching the phone from Arjun

"There's been a problem" He said

"Of course there's been a problem Rishab, we were stranded at the airport because you didn't lift our calls" I shouted at him with all the little energy I had
