The group decided that it would be best for them to bunker down at the Vanderbilts for the night since that was the closest place.

Thankfully, Laura and Conrad Vanderbilt were beyond relieved to see the Pogues turn up on their doorstep. The news and speculation of John B had reached their doorstep and Conrad had even been called by his friend at SBI about helping work the case.

Laura rushed them all inside once they're feet touched the porch. They were all sat down around the table and served enough food to keep them stuffed for days. The mom dotted on each of them, wiping off any dirt or pulling them in for a much-needed hug.

While Laura made her rounds on the teens, Conrad had seated himself at the head of the table, asking the group as many questions as he could think of asking. Of course, it was on the topic of the sheriff shooting and wether John B was innocent or not. The Pogues were happy to provide the lawyer with all the answers and accounts the group had. They told the story about finding the Royal Merchant, tracking down the gold, learning Ward Cameron killed Big John, and Rafe Cameron killing Sheriff Peterkin.

The older man knew that the group had enough evidence and eyewitnesses to provide a better case than the Camerons, as seeing his youngest daughter was also an eye-witness to the events that had taken place.

The only problem was, John B was running and Sarah Cameron was nowhere to be found.

Morning came quicker than expected for the group. They all had their jobs that needed to be done so John B could get out of the Outer Banks while everything settled down. The Vanderbilts were left out of the plan made by the teenagers in Ferris's room that night.

"He's pinched for sure, man," JJ grumbled around a giant scope of cereal to Pope. Popi, Ferris, and Kiara were still washing off the week's worth of guilt, dirt, and lies.

"No, they still wouldn't be patrolling if they caught him," Pope denied, having heard sirens all night and some earlier. He made quick work of a banana that JJ pointed out.

"Let's hope," Ferris commented, skipping into the kitchen. He opened the double door fridge and pulled out a couple of yogurts for everyone.

"You know, we were in that car. They're probably looking for us, too," Kiara commented, joining the group with Popi following close behind.

"They're probably looking for us, regardless. Everyone knows we are close to John B. We would be the first people they will question," Popi pitched in her sense on the issue.
