Before the War

Dear, isn't all fair in Love and War?
Well, you're the only one I adore,
So, promise when we're off to battle,
Your words to me are more than prattle.
For you are my heart, my only dear,
And If I should lose you, I must fear,
My heart will perish along with you,
And I can't live without love so true.
