she laughed as she gave up on getting her bag. They were still standing right out the doors of the school, the visor or whatever it's called protecting them from most of the rain. the harsh winds helped to spray them both with water and to whip her hair back.
"oh, come on." she drawled out. "gimme my bag so i can go home."
kwensi looked at her bag like he was thinking it over. then he turned away from her, looked over his shoulder, "how about no? oh i can, like, walk you half way home."
her heart swelling with happiness for a moment. "why would you wanna do that?"
"'cause I can use your bag as protection from the rain."
her heart was still happy, even though he was only wanting to walk her home for a ridiculous and quite selfish reason.
"nice try." she took her book bag back, kwensi not even complaining. "see you tomorrow."
"bye, laura."
