"I'm gonna tear Jed apart." Raf growls
"No, you're really not." Hope says, stopping him
"He's gonna pay for what he did." Raf says. "He could've killed him."
"You want to do something to help him?" Hope asks through her teeth. "Take a walk to the herb garden and get me some Hazlewood root."
Raf storms out of the room
"What does Hazlewood root do?" Landon asks
"Make him cool off before he realizes that I made it up." Hope says, sitting on the bed next to Landon
"Raf's had a... a rough couple of weeks." Landon tells her
"Look who's talking." Hope says. "Guess we can cross supernatural healing off the list. I'm sorry that this happened to you. Jed's one of those rare cases where his bite is actually worse than his bark."
"I've dealt with bullies before." Landon says
"Not like this." Hope says, pushing hair out of his face gently. "I know how badly you want to stay here, but this school is full of people like Jed. Some of us are nicer, some of us have more control, but all of us are capable of doing what he did. Do you honestly think that you're safe here?"
"Yes, I do." Landon says
Hope is silent for a moment
"You should rest." Hope whispers
Hope stands up and looks to Sadie
"Thank you." Hope says
Sadie nods
"Yeah, seriously." Landon says. "Thank you, Sarah, you saved my life."
Sadie nods, tears in her eyes and she presses her lips together. She looks down
"What's wrong?" Hope asks
"I went against Jed..." Sadie whispers, looking up at her. "Pack's gonna hate me."
"Isn't Raf the alpha now?" Landon asks
"He's been the alpha for like 5 minutes." Sadie tells him. "Pack's not gonna care if he's the alpha...I went against my own."
SADIE: If you know anything about packs, you know I'm serious when I say that packs never go against their own.
"He went against you." Hope tells her. "You fought each other. I have your back on this one, okay? If anyone gives you trouble, I'll talk to them."
