Anthony

The pen in my hand is scribbling down on the white paper while the computer in front of me is on Google Translate, working from Spanish to English. An associate of mine that runs my company in Spain sent me an email and even though I told her to write it in English she keeps writing them in Spanish.

While the sound of ink hitting the paper flows into my ears my mind is somewhere else, not a drop of concentration on what I'm doing.

Images of what happened yesterday keep coming into my mind like flashes. When Beatrice told me to give her a ride to the mall last morning I accepted, hoping that I will return home as soon as possible but the day ended with an accident and oh, the irony, the other driver was Lucas.

It was weird seeing him outside of work and not dressed in the uniform. He was driving while being underage and the accident was also his fault but I still offered to help him and give him a ride. I was confused, I didn't know who that teenager and baby were but I didn't bother to think about it.

They could be his friends but I doubt he hangs out with a baby and a child so maybe they were family or something.

It's not my business anyway, so I let it go. Things changed when we got to the bus stop. Yes, I am a possessive person but never in my life have I ever felt so angry when Lucas hugged that dude. At first, I though they were related but come on, that Kevin guy is at least 20, Lucas is a teenager, that was a baby and that kid was a whole different race so it seems impossible that they are siblings.

I never thought about Lucas having a relationship, he never said anything when I did those things to him and he always gave the single vibe so who the hell is that guy?

I can't help the jealousy that stirs inside me. I will ask him today. It's 7 am so he is supposed to arrive in one hour and that's when I will ask him. And it depends on the answer if I will have to go kill that Kevin guy afterwards.

Special chapter (3rd POV)

The sun is shining bright, the curtains in a soft dance with the warm air, the dust being held up by the light. His eyes slowly open, revealing a paradise, brown like Colombian coffee. Dark strands are falling over one side of his face while the rest of his hair is held up in a bun, hanging loosely at the bottom of his head. The sheets are cold, pressing against his tanned skin but once he stands up -a yawn stretching his face- they fall into a mess at his waist.

The sun rays are landing directly on the left side of the bed, caressing small portions of the sheets -turning them golden- and caressing one side of his body, the other one in a contrast with the beam of light, emphasizing his muscles and the sharp bone structure of his face.

His thoughts are misty, they have been like that since the day he left. The homecoming could've been an awakening from the emotional paralysis that working in an illegal industry brought him in the past years but it was no awakening. Maybe guilt and addiction will forever confuse him.

He doesn't know, the future is uncertain, everything is uncertain for the family he is part of. That's just how things are.

So, the only thing he is able to do is leave the comfort of the bed and walk to the small mirror in his room. Well, not really his room. The Jackson's house isn't big at all, from the outside it looks like a cottage ready to fall to ruins but the inside is much more complicated than that.

Normally, a small house would not have many rooms but there it is the opposite. The rooms are many and small, the area divided into 9 small quarters -three occupying the first floor and 6 the second one. Almost everyone has their own room except Ben and George who are roommates and Bea and Baby who sleep in the same room but that shouldn't count since Baby is only a child and she sometimes sleeps in Lucas' room.
