in a world where everyone is constantly faced with criticism, hate, judgement, and heartbreak, everyone is ought to feel hopeless and broken. with each statement that makes you feel less whole, less full, less happy, a crack appears on their skin, just as how porcelain dolls chip away and break as time wears them out. 

everyone has at least one blemish displayed on their face for all the world to see, but has there been anyone that had zero cracks and look "normal?"

baek ichika especially dealt with heartbreak while being an orphan after her biological parents died in a car crash from drunk driving. it's been a long time since, but the pain still lingers in her heart.

whilst dealing with high school, she encounters a strange boy with absolutely no cracks whatsoever. his skin is perfectly untouched, and he doesn't show any signs of mental distress at all.
