It was about half-past 5 and the gas tank in the motorcycle ran out. Good thing it was full, Hinata and I got away from that wretched place we call home. I parked the cycle in an alleyway between some buildings, there wasn't any use of the motorcycle anymore, Ikari could accuse me of stealing after running away if he ever were to report me to the police, even though I did steal it.

Hinata got off the vehicle, her two bags hanging from both of her shoulders. Before leaving the alleyway, I quickly put my hair in a ponytail, grabbing my leather jacket that had holes in the back for my broken wings.

"Mommy, what will we do?" My daughter asked as we walked out of the alleyway. I held her hand and smiled down at the girl.

"We'll find a place to stay, but for now, I'll need to find a job," I explained. Her only response was a nod and a hum. We walked through the city streets for a bit and watched as the sun rose up.

There were some people walking to either work or school, some gave Hinata and me weird looks. After walking around the little part of the city, there was a sign that was hanging on what looked like a club building.

'Help wanted! Dancers, waiters, baristas! $16 an hour' the sign said. I raised an eyebrow and decided to go inside the club, Hinata following.

"Hi." A woman came to me as I entered. She looked at me then at Hinata with a questioning look.

"May... I help you two?" the female asked. She was rather tall, taller than I am. I felt Hinata shuffle behind me, scared of the lady in front of us.

"We're closed right now if you're here for a job then-"

"Yes, I'm here for a job." I cut off the lady. She eyed me up and down once again, crossing her arms and shifting her weight to her left leg.

"Okay, your.. Daughter can sit in the lounge for a bit, come with me." The woman said, her amber eyes moving away from us. I lightly pushed Hinata over to the lounge, her nodding and quickly shuffling over to the booths.

I followed the ravenette down the halls of this club and into a large office of hers. As we get closer to her desk, she sits down and so did I.

"So, what's up with you and your daughter?" The question confused me, I left my mouth agape for a second then closed it.

"Sorry, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Tomioka Misaki, and my quirk can manipulate my tattoos into what they are," The woman introduced herself, rolling up her black sleeves to show her dragon tattoos that slithered up to her wrists.

"I'm (L/N) (Y/N), my quirk is Sapphire dove." I stated, locking eye contact with Misaki. Her amber eyes scanned my body, looking at the edge of my shoulder to the sight of my broken wings.

"And what happened to them? That question following, what happened to you and that little girl?" Misaki asked again, making me fidget with the ends of my thumbnail as if they were trying to pry each other off.

"Um, why do you ask?" I tried to ask as politely as I could. Every time I looked up the slightest bit, she only stared with her cold golden eyes, it felt like knives touching the surface of my skin.

"Your daughter has been trembling ever since you've entered, and those wings aren't the only thing that got hurt." Misaki said, pointing at the bandages that wrapped my neck, down to my shoulders and back. Before speaking, I exhaled a sigh and cleared my throat.

"My boyfriend- Ex-boyfriend, was abusive and my daughter didn't want to stay with that bastard anymore, I didn't either. So we ran away. He broke my wing every time they tried to regrow, but they were always so fragile during the healing process." I explained, my eyes now looking at the wooden floor. Silence filled the room, only a small creak of Misaki's chair escaped into the air. Looking up, she was leaning back in her seat, looking at me with the same cold look.
