Chapter 9: Girls got Rhythm

Barden Athletic Facility - Empty Pool - Riff-Off

Lynn scaled down the pool ladder slowly, as she was the last one to arrive. There was already a crowd of fans that had formed around the pool.

Just as she reached the last column, she felt a familiar hand support her back.

Grinning to herself, she landed and looked at Aubrey appreciatively. The Bella leader fully aware of friend's of fear heights, always assisted when needed.

"You're l..."

"I know..I know, I'm sorry I'm late, the study group ran longer than planned."

They both reached the rest of the Bellas.

"It's okay, you actually made it just in time." Chloe told her, overhearing them.

A siren then went off, getting everyone's attention.

Riff off was one of Lynn's favourite activities' when she joined the Bellas, since it was the only time the group got to be creative and spontaneous.

"Welcome to the riff off!" Justin yelled.

The crowd cheered in excitement.

"Who's ready to get vocal??"

Lynn cheered with all the A-ca groups, as she excitedly shook a stiff standing Beca.

"The winners get the greatest prize of all.....the microphone used by Hoobastank when they rocked out at the Schnee Performing Arts Center."

She watched with a sly grin as Beca and Jesse were silently conversing with each other from afar.

"Hey, get your head in the game, you can't get distracted by cute boys." Lynn teased, grinning, while bumping the distracted girl's arm.

Receiving a tight-lipped smile from Beca. "It's not lik..."

Before Beca could finish her sentence, Chloe shook Lynn's arm and pulled her closer to the front with her and Aubrey, as Justin spun the virtual wheel to start off the game.

"...And the first category is.." Lynn watched her blonde friend wiggling her fingers, pumping herself up.

"Ladies of the 80's!"

Both Aubrey and Bumper seem to have the same song in mind and ran for it, but the Treblemaker leader beat her to it.

"Oh Mickey you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind...!"

"Hey Mickey, Hey Hey Hey Mickey." the other Trebles joined in.

Lynn patted Aubrey on the arm, "It's still early in the game, we'll get them"

"Oh Mickey you're so fine"..

"You're so fine, and you're mine.." Barloney Barb from the BU Harmonics, stole the song.

"..I'll be yours till the end of time, cause you made me feel.." then the rest of her group harmonized with her.

The Bella leader then turned to her group telling them to back her up for 'Hit me with your best shot.'

Everyone nodded and smiled in agreement, as Aubrey gestured that she got it.

"Hey! Touched for the very first time. Like.."

"Like the one in me. That's okay let's see how you do it!"

"...Put up your dukes, let's get down to it." Chloe and Lynn joined in with her as the rest of the Bellas joined in at the chorus.
