It was the day of graduation and Derek was practically shaking with nerves. Graduating was a piece of cake, but meeting Stiles' dad? Not so much... Stiles chuckled as he fixed the other boy's tie, "Jeez, Der-bear, relax! My dad will adore you." Derek tried to smile like everything was alright but failed miserably, "But what if he doesn't?" Stiles shook his head, "If that were the case, and I highly doubt it will, I'd find a way to change his mind." He gave Derek a tender kiss, "I promise."

They were set to meet their parents in front of the main building, where the ceremony would be held. Stiles was practically skipping on the grass, Derek strolling along as he held his hand. The first person they bumped into was Scott, accompanied by Allison and Melissa, his mom. They were talking cheerily when Stiles' dad joined them, pulling Stiles into a tight hug and pinning Derek down with his iron blue eyes.
The young werewolf gulped as he extended his arm, "Nice to meet you sir, I am-" "Derek Hale", the sheriff interrupted, "Second oldest child of Talia and Robert Hale, brother to Laura, Cora and Caius, and soon to be graduated with a masters diploma in American and European history." He grinned as he pulled a startled Derek into a hug as well, "I know who you are kid, my son's like Wikipedia, not always objective but oddly thorough."
Derek let out a relieved chuckle, "Sure sounds like the Stiles I know." "Hey!", Stiles shouted as he slapped Derek's arm, "You've just met, are you seriously gonna gang up on me already?" Someone chuckled behind them, "Oh don't you worry, Stiles, I'd pick your side any day." Laura approached with a mischievous grin and a beautiful albino girl on her arm. "Laura! Thank Luci you're here!", Stiles exclaimed as he went over to hug her.
Derek followed suit and hugged his older sister, before being introduced to Noemi, Laura's high school friend who had apparently become more. "I'm taking full credit for that one", Derek whispered in Laura's ear when Stiles was animatedly talking to Noemi. "Welp, I'm taking full credit for little red riding hood over there, too. So I think we're even." They were later joined by Derek's other siblings and his parents.
Noah and Robert got along perfectly, talking about fishing and politics, as well as Talia and Melissa who were gushing about their wonderful children, barely restraining themselves of showing the baby pictures in their wallet. Derek and Stiles looked on with looks of pure happiness on their faces, still holding hands, cherishing this moment with their loved ones and each other.

"...And now for the valedictorian of the department of Mystics and Lore, Stiles Stilinski." Derek nearly cheered his lungs out as he watched Stiles climb the stage. The other boy met his gaze before smiling brightly and taking his place in front of the microphone. "Hello graduates! I don't know if you know me, but I'm Stiles. We went to college together, good times... Follow me on Twitter." Derek chuckled and his smile never faded during Stiles' speech, he loved this idiot. HIS idiot.

Epilogue: Two years later
About nine months after their graduation they moved in together, being unable to sleep without their mate. They found an apartment in Moose Creek, the little town between Beacon Hills and Beacon Valley. It wasn't much, but it was perfect for them. Derek found a job as historian in a museum a couple of miles away and Stiles started as mythical consultant with the Beacon Hills Sheriff's department, just as planned.
They were happy, still as in love as they were the day they fell. They were walking down the main street of Moose's hand in hand after their weekly date night, Stiles talking Derek's ear off as usual. "Next week's our two year anniversary and let me tell you Marlon Brando, I'm expecting a grand gesture." "Grand gesture, huh? I can pull that off", Derek said before jumping on a car. Stiles yelped in surprise, "Derek, what are you doing?"
"My name is Derek Hale", Derek shouted, making several heads turn in their direction. Below him, Stiles was a giggly mess, trying to pull him down. "This nutjob right here is MY nutjob and I am hopelessly in love with him!", he shouted again. He extended his arm, grabbed Stiles' hand and pulled him up on the hood with him, hugging him to his chest. "I'd give you the world, Stiles Stilinski", he muttered. "Jesus fuck, marry me already", Stiles blurted before pulling him in for a passionate kiss. Derek fished a ring from his pocket and grinned, "That can be arranged."
