"  dha ti de ge na. . .  "

RUKMINI'S MELODIOUS alap halted. Jambvati's fingers ceased brushing the strings of sitar. Satyabhama rested her hand on the tabla top with a thud. The girl from kaliyug then ended up raising her arms in the air with her body weight resting on her left toe.

"Perfect in all senses!" Revati clapped her hands in awe judging rehearsals of our performance. "I just need some some water now!" Krishna's first wife announced touching her sore throat lightly. "Who else wanted to have a rehearsal for the 15th time in a day?" Satyabhama narrowed her eyes at the eldest wife of Krishna. "Ah! I am so knackered. I just need some fresh air. Dasi, you stay. I'm going towards the kitchen anyway. I will get you some water in my return Bhabhi." Simran said rearranging in her sagged body, finally standing up.

Dwarka Narayani was actually serious about having the sangeet ceremony tomorrow, just at the wedding day in the morning. The future girl initially thought it to be just an exchange of idea.

She walked across the royal corridors  leading to the arcade of the palace and kitchen falls in between. Now her ligaments were already aching and calves were trembling of the hectic practice sessions. It wouldn't have been onerous if it was a dwaparyug ragini but it was a kaliyug song. So blaming it on humidity taking over her she trailed fanning herself with her orange coloured dupatta.

"Careful!" she had heard a voice not noticing that in oblivion her toe got stuck in the carpets spread all over the marble floors. She stumbled as her toe punctured in the loop thread of the velvet carpets losing her balance.

Fortunately opening her scrunched eyes she found her hand locked with him as she was bent backwards, hanging in the air only dependent to stay firm with the hold of his hand. "Thank you!" she said now managing  herself of that sudden blunder. A beaming grin was stuck on his thin lips. "If you could remember, this was how we met for the first time in Hastinapur!"

How can I forget that unnecessarily slapdash and shambolic Simran?

"I think you are not here to embarrass me Angraj. Anyways, I hope you and others from the family aren't facing any issue regarding the arrangements and stay?" she asked him walking to the destination and he walked along. "It's the very best we could get dea- uh, Simran! Oh! I must say I eagerly wait for your performance!" Karn was fumbling. To her he felt like that Karn who showed her the markets and the alleys of Hastinapur.

But he has moved on? And he no  longer loves me? I think I'm just overthinking...

"I hope I didn't say something that might upset you" Karn said moving a satiny curtain aside from her path . "Obviously not, by the way it's not just my performance. I am a part of the schedule Bhabhishree have decided. They wanted to have a tinge of my era in this wedding so I suggested to have a sangeet ceremony-" He gawked at her face, after all this time perhaps his feelings weren't locked behind. "Karn? Are you listening?" he croaked a hum and then cleared his throat. "I am. You dance really well I saw you dancing in the rain that day!"
