He entered quietly, still fidgeting with his clothing.
"They want to talk to you about your brother..." Daisy said calmly.

"What is there to talk about?" Mario growled, "He's dead."

L couldn't tell if Mario sounded sad or angry. He heard Daisy sigh, and he knew it was time to speak up.
"No I'm not..."
Mario looked shocked, looking up quickly. It looked like he was barely even processing who he was looking at beyond the fact that he was seeing his little brother again. Mario barrelled at him, hugging him tightly. L was stunned, but hugged back at the sound of his brother sobbing heavily. He sniffed loudly between heavy breaths.
"You're alive!!"
He cried. L began to quietly weep as well. He wanted to tell him about what happened to him, from the other personalities, to the hallucinations, to the nightmares, to the memory loss, but that was conversation for another time.

"Yeah... I'm alive..."
After a while, Mario looked back up at him. A look of concern spread over his eyes. "Bro, are you doing okay? It looks like you haven't eaten in ages!"
L sighed, "I can't really say I've done worse, I guess..."
"Well then, I'll make you something right now! Then we can catch up!"
Catching up would definitely be a boulevard to more tears, but he agreed regardless.

Mario began to make pancakes, though it looked like he was struggling. L wanted to help, but he'd be even more clueless. Eventually, though, he finished them, and brought some to the table. Luigi took a bite, picking a god and praying to it that Mario doesn't notice his monstrous teeth.
-"Goodness, its been so long since we've had anything to eat that wasn't a corpse."-
>I don't wanna think about that!!<
L replied in his internal monologue. He had to fight the urge to say it out loud. Daisy sat with them.
"So, Princess, what happened to you, if you don't mind me asking."
Right, all that was known to the public about Daisy's death was that she was found battered severely in the ocean.
Daisy and L exchanged glances, and she replied,
"Just took a nasty fall, nothing much besides that."
L choked back a sigh of relief.
>Well, she's not wrong...
Wendigo said. Had the beast been visible, L was sure he would have shrugged.
They continued to eat together, even once they were finished, they kept up light conversation, but L knew that Mario had a feeling something was up. He could see it in his eyes.
