Wendigo grinned, looking an awful lot like a particular disappearing cat.
"Care to take a guess?"
Mario raised an eyebrow.
"... Wendigo?"
He asked, saying his name as if he was unsure if he got it right.
"Precisely!"

In that moment, Daisy came into the room. Funny, he actually was wondering where she went.
"Hey, you two... four..."
"Either way."
"...Yeah."

Daisy paused for a moment, clearly a little awkward. She heard the way he spoke, and she didn't even try hiding it. "Well... uh... hey, can I talk to you, since you're here and all."
Wendigo blinked, "Yeah, alright. See ya in a bit, Mario."
He said as he half-jumped-half-climbed over the couch, following the ghost.

When they were alone, Daisy sighed, frowning.
"Do you... realise the things you've done?"
"And that means?"
"I know you know exactly what I mean."
He paused. Right. All those murders...
"Oh..."
"See, not only have you single handedly scared the entire kingdom, but you've taken people from their families, and made their last moments pure agony. I'm doing my best to forgive you because I want to help you guys, I mean, the old Luigi didn't just become a cold-blooded killer and cannibal, no, it's quite obviously more complicated than that, but I need you to understand this sort of thing."
Wendigo was silent. He never did stop to think about it... did he?
"Did you know any better?"
He shook his head.

Wendigo felt so stupid when he expressed it. How could he not have known?! He sighed heavily.
"I don't know why I didn't..."
"Maybe it was your mental health plummeting... I know none of you would remember it, but I do... the old Luigi... he never had more than one personality, never experienced hallucinations, just, he never had to deal with what you have to now. Once everything that happened to you came crashing down, it took a serious toll, I can tell. I didn't even know this would be a possible result... maybe it all was worse than the old you wanted to believe.
I mean, yes, it explains what you've done, but it doesn't excuse it. Thing is, you all suffered enough, even if you don't think it happened to you, specifically, I can almost guarantee that you did. All that pain resulting from what happened-"
"L was blaming himself for what I did..."
Wendigo said, his tone as sharp as a shard of glass.

Daisy was stunned.
"He didn't realise that Beelzebub and I were entire... people, I suppose, not yet. He thought everything I was doing was him. I think that hurt him more. It's one thing to lose control over your own body, it's another to not know why."
She reached towards him, frowning.
"It must be a really confusing situation for all of you..."
Wendigo sniffed, a tear welled in his eye.
"It is... it really is..."
