EDITED
Y/Ns POV:
The visit with the diamonds went as well as it could have. They gushed over Ven and they all shared memories. I guess it was nice to have their two favorite people (Pink Diamond and Steven) as one person they could talk to.

Spinel walked us to the warp pad, asking me questions about Earth and what I was doing. I mostly made up stuff so she wouldn't feel sorry for me, which earned a few weird looks from Ven.

When the warp pad activated Ven grabbed my arm. "So you went to Mask Island, huh?" That was a lie I told Spinel.

"Yeah, you weren't with me." I shrugged. He definitely didn't believe me.

Day Nine-
Ven shook me awake. "Good morning." He was smiling, and handed me a change of clothes. The sun wasn't even starting to rise yet.

"What time is it?" I mumbled.

Ven looked at the clock on the nightstand. "4:37."

"Why are you waking me up now?" I rolled out of bed and rubbed my eyes.

"Because, we are going to Mask Island for the day." Ven followed me down the stairs with a bounce in his step.

I walked over to the bathroom and started to close the door. "Stay here." I said to him. He nodded and stood directly in front of the door as I shut it. I got ready mindlessly, then opened the door with a sigh.

"Lets go!" Ven grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the front door.

"Wait! Can we pack food or something? We are gonna be there all day and I need to eat." Ven led me to the kitchen and started putting various snacks in a plastic bag.

"There." He handed me the bag and looked around. "Where is Lion?" He asked firmly.

I shrugged. "Probably outside." We walked outside and I peeked under the porch. Sure enough, Lion was rolling around in the shade. He huffed when he saw me and stood up. "Can you take us to Mask Island?" I asked. He stood up and stretched, then moved to let us onto his back.

Ven hopped over the railing and landed on Lions back.

Show off.

I raised a piece of the ground for me to step on and lowered myself to the ground silently. I sat in front of Ven and messed with Lions mane as he jumped through a portal.

"Are you gonna throw me into the ocean again?" I asked when Lion landed on the ground.

Ven shrugged. "Maybe." A few Watermelon Stevens ran up to us, jumping up and down and making happy noises.

"Hey guys." I had met them a few years ago, they hadn't liked me at first, but soon followed me around and showed me their stuff.

"Watermelon?" Ven asked.

"Watermelon Stevens. Steven spit on seeds and they all created a civilization here. Do you remember them?" Ven nodded and patted a Watermelon Steven on the head. The Watermelon Steven smiled and ran off.

"It's pretty." Ven pointed at the ocean.

I nodded. "Me and Steven spent days here." It was true, we would bring a tent and sleeping bags and stay on the island for a few days. We would catch fish and build things with the Watermelon Stevens until Pearl or Garnet called us and asked where we were, making us come home because they were worried.

Ven nodded and walked over to the waterfall. Excitedly, he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the waterfall. He bent down a little, and I realized what he was about to do.

"Wait! I can't jump! My legs will snap."

Ven shrugged. "You have a gem." He pulled me into his chest and jumped anyways. He took most of the blow when we hit the water and let go of me so he could pop up and get air.

"See? No harm done." Ven smiled at me.

I splashed him. "You're an idiot." I muttered.

He gave me a puzzled look. "No, I'm Ven." I blinked a couple of times, then splashed him again.

We spent hours in the water, swimming around and goofing off. I pointed out different species of fish to him, and we ate the different snacks Ven packed. He had brought a change of clothes, although I don't know when he grabbed them, so I changed in a small crystal filled cave before we agreed to head back home.

"What's for dinner?" I asked him as he looked around for Lion.

"We can make something." Ven decided. We waved Lion down, who was about to pounce on a Watermelon Steven. I hugged the Watermelon Stevens goodbye, promising to visit them soon.

We hopped through a portal, landing in Stevens living room. "Do you know how to cook?" I asked. Steven has taught me how to cook, but when we did it together he took the lead.

Ven started opening and closing cabinets, looking for something to make. "Yes. Let's make cake." He pulled out a box of cake mix and smiled at me.

"That's not dinner." I shook my head and Ven frowned.

"Yes it is." He ignored my protests and pulled out the other ingredients. He gave me directions and I started quietly.

After a minute Ven looked over at me. "Do you miss him?" I nodded. "I'm sorry."

I shrugged. "There's nothing you could have done. It's not your fault."

"Why don't you like me?" He asked slowly. He was trying to gauge my reaction.

I stopped what I was doing and turned to face him. "I do like you. You just remind me of him, that's all."

Amethysts POV:
Me, Garnet and Pearl we're starting towards the warp pad. We had just finished up at Little Homeschool and decided to go home together.

"So, Y/N and Ven are getting along." Pearl said.

"Yes." Garnet nodded.

"They've got a weird dynamic. You notice how they only ask each other a question a day, and then they're silent?" I said. "Ven is not Steven. He made her come to Funland, and apologize to Bismuth. I don't know how he managed to do that."

"Y/N is getting out of the house though, that's good. She's been miserable for so long." Pearl mused. We stepped onto the warp pad and appeared at home.

"What the..." I blinked a couple of times. Ven and Y/N were in the kitchen, hugging. Silent tears were rolling down Y/Ns face, and Ven patted her back comfortingly.

"Uhh-" Pearl was cut off by Garents hand. She shushed us, then the warp pad activated and we were back at Little Homeschool.

Garnet smiled. "Let's give them their privacy."
