Chapter Three - Not Alone

(Y/N)'s POV

'I can't believe I'm actually doing this.'

Mal: K-Keep?

Her canid-skull had a tiny bit of red... how does that work?

(Y/N): Y-Yeah, is that a problem-

Mal suddenly hugs me.

I felt tears on my shoulder after.

(Y/N): Mal?

Mal: Thank you so much (Y/N)....

She wagged her tail while I pat her head, soothing her.

(Y/N): Not a problem, I actually wanted company since I'm living all by myself.

She lets go of me and hunches forward.

Since she's like.... 8 inches taller.

Mal: Where are your parents?

My face saddens.

(Y/N): Well, my mother is working somewhere that she wouldn't tell me about but sending me money to keep the house, and my father is.... dead.

Mal: I-I'm sorry.

(Y/N): It's okay, it's just really unfortunate.

. . .

(Y/N): How about you? Any family?

She nodded her head.

Mal: Well, my mother took care of me in the forest till I was a teenager. She told me to never go through populated areas. I was ignorant. Later on, I went to the city and observed what humans do. Work, socialize, play, and communicate. I learned that I had the power to access the internet and other devices through my head. Apparently, I was too ahead of myself. A year later when I got home to see my mother. A bunch of soldiers found us, and my mother attacked them, but she was outnumbered, killing her. Then the SCP Foundation took me in.

Her face saddens as well.

Mal: It's been over ten years in that hellhole. Now I'm an adult.

She sighs.

(Y/N): Must have been rough.

I grabbed Mal's hand.

(Y/N): I'll make sure they will never take you again.

I had a reassuring smile.

She returned it with a heartwarming grin.

Mal: Thank you for taking in a 'runaway monster' like me.

(Y/N): Monster, pfft. It's quite the opposite.

'Hope she takes the hint.... am I hitting on her?...'

She made a flustered face.

'I should stop doing that.'

I head to the desk picking up the books and grabbing the broken piece of the desk.

(Y/N): Take a nap on the bed, it must have been exhausting to escape from that 'hellhole'.

She chuckled.

Mal: Yeah it was.

She sat on the bed and then laid down to get comfortable.

(Y/N): I'm just going to clean this up.
