Jieun wanted to say something back but was speechless as he counterattack. He was right. What's the point of her knowing?
Jeongso bat his underlips, looking the other way, with ease pulled his hand free, and walked away without looking back.
What am I to say that... She closed her eyes shut and breathed out in despair.
.
.
After having some time alone she went back to the yard seeing Seojun and Ahyeong cleaning the table. Hanna came from behind and hardly bumped into her shoulder making Jieun falter a few steps.
Jieun rubbed her shoulder at the sore spot while Hanna took of the remaining empty plates and turned back at her making her look with cautious eyes.
"Instead of being in the way, make yourself useful"
"Uhh...ohh!!"Jieun shockingly balanced to not grease her shirt with leftover food on the plates as Hanna shoved half-full dishes into her arm.
I just wasted my time feeling bad for him! It's his fortune to not being with...UGRRR!!! Jieun rolled her eyes and headed back to the kitchen with a pile of plates.
After washing the dishes Jieun gathered the clothes that she hang for dry. Though some pieces still were a bit muggy, she had no choice but to pull it down, since Hanna informed that they had to head back to Seoul.
As she folded the clothes and put them into the basket Jieun saw Hanna walk in the road leading to the stream.
Where is she going? Jieun looked with speculating eyes at Hanna walking while smiling to herself.
HUH!!!! Look at that sly wench! She's going to the lake!! Pretending to be all mighty and talk about naive people and such!!! And here I was ordered to wash all the dishes!! Jieun smacked the shirt off dust forcefully while dropping her jaw in disbelief.
She put down the folded shirt in the basket and picked it up.
Why should I do everything while a girl with everything could satisfy her greed by praying for more?!? Jieun dropped the basket.
"Are you a princess here? Am I living off your household here?!! Do I have to whatever you're throwing at me!?!?" Jieun went her anger at the basket, talking to it as it was some kind of person while kicking every time she made a question.
The basket flipped over and the clothes fell down to the ground at the basket's mouth as if it was sticking its tongue at her.
She put her hands around her hips with closed eyes while blowing her bang in annoyance.
What am I even doing talking to a basket... She ran her fingers through her hair while looking in the direction Hana went off.
After picking up the clothes, brushed them from dust she squatted down and put it into the basket and looked at them with wondering eyes.
"I'll pick you up a little later so just stay put!" She said with a commanding tone.
She looked around to see if anyone was looking and hurriedly ran in the direction of the little path to the forest leading up the mountain.
She walked with fasts steps and was in no time already walking up the stairs made out of stone. She remembered the path as she early this morning has seen Ahyeong and Seojun coming from there.
What should I wish for? She suddenly stopped in her tracks. Love fortune? Am I really that bad situated?
Remembering what Ahyeong said made her think that it wasn't far from the truth.
She faced the ground as she with slow steps walked up the stairs with a concerned look.
Like the legend is even true? I'm being over-dramatic. She shook her head, but then was reminded by her own existence which was a miracle or at least proof that things aren't as it seems to be. Many unexplainable things exist in this world we live in, we just don't know.
With a serious look on her face, she pondered about her own existence. Ha Jinah.
Being put into someone's body and living her life. With names that pop out of nowhere and glimpses of memories that disappear faster than the shadow following a body.
Waking up in the middle of the night to a wet pillow and tears running down her cheeks. The dreams that hunted her nearly every night after the drowning incident at the pool, but the moment her eyes opened, every single moment of the dream was gone.
The more she tried to remember the more lost she became. Only the tears proved that it was something.
"Ahh!!" Something bumped hardly into her shoulder and Jieun fell to the ground, landing on her butt.
She rubbed the swollen shoulder and it hurts even more as it was the same side Hana bumped into earlier. She felt chugged and hurt at the touch and knew that she would see a show of color change on her shoulder very soon.
"Do you always have to be in the way?" Jieun rolled her eyes as she already knew who the voice belonged to, didn't even need to look up to verify.
"I've heard you're lost your memories but what should we do with your manner? Don't you even know how to apologize?" Jieun glanced at the ground, judging from her shadow she must be crossing her arms seeing how both elbows stuck out from both sides above her hips.
