"the requirement to be a superhero has been reduced to level 6"

The news echoed down the hallways of Mighty med. Through the corridors of the sickly White hospital, nurses and doctors of every branch and level quickly began to herd near the gym/training room for judgment. They waited in a line that went on for what could be counted as forever.
Horace and Kaz sat down in their chairs, authority and responsibility flooded through them as they got ready to look at everyone's powers - well, nearly everybody.

At the end of the hall, there was one doctor left. One who didn't want to be tested. One who went to check on all the patients as everyone seemed too occupied. One who was happy to finally get some peace.
Cassie went from room to room checking vitals and performing minor surgery on those who desperately needed it. Hours had passed since the news was first announced and Cassie was in the last room of the hospital when the superhero reviews were coming to an end. The last superhero was in a coma, they had been for a long time, with a large ouzing split in their arm that wouldn't heal. Cassie carefully lifted up the heroes arm and started to clean the wound and replace the bandages. It wasn't her favourite part of being a teenage doctor but she had learnt to live with it because she was saving the people who save people, and that's all that really mattered, right?

Cassie updated the patient's files and began the make her way to the door. She reached into her pocket trying to find her key card but it wasn't there. She cursed under her breath as she patted herself down, desperately looking for the card but had no luck. She looked around suspiciously though there was no one conscious in the room and lept. A glowing circle of blue and lilac formed infront of her. For only a few milliseconds she was in the soundless vacuum of space, weightless amongst the stars. But that feeling of nothingness was soon gone when she stepped back into the hallway, closing her portal behind her. Cassie examined the floor for her card and found it right beneath the keypad. Of course she thought to herself, Cassie was prone to little mistakes such as dropping her access card, she thought that by now she'd keep a tighter grip but alas there she was having to use her powers to fix the mistake.
After firmly putting the card back into her pocket she made her way down the hall. But, as she did the sound of a boy shouted desperately at her to stop. She started to speed up her walking as the footsteps of the jogging boy became louder.

A few moments earlier.

Kaz had finally escaped the hell hole that was those auditions, when he signed up to help Horace judge who was worthy enough to become a superhero he assumed that would involve seeing great powers and heroes in action. He couldn't have been more wrong, instead his reality was a record player and supersonic skippers.
When he stepped out of the doors he looked to his left to see one of the annoying skippers that tried to be boosted to a six parking his invisible ambulance. He was about to make his way down when something caught his eye.
To his right Kaz was hypnotised by the sparking blues and lilacs the encircled a black hole. He took a step closer, curiosity taking over him. Then a girl stepped out making Kaz stop in his tracks. His first reaction of this girl was amazement, that power of teleportation was like nothing he had ever seen before. Kaz watched for a moment as the stranger searched the floor.

Her naturally ashy blonde hair was tied up in a pony tail, her wild baby hairs were scattered across her forehead, some denying the laws of gravity. Kaz's curiosity began to grow further at who she was, what looked like, and especially why she didn't get her powers tested when they were clearly powerful.

Kaz was about to lose his chance to ever get the answers to these questions when she turned the corner. Kaz could think of nothing but to shout "stop!" Kaz began to speed up,  walking soon became jogging which soon became running. He desperately called out for her to stop until she was an arms length away. He reached out his hand and without thinking grabbed her wrist, a bit too tightly than he would have liked.

The sudden touch of Kaz's hand wrapping around her wrist made her gasp in surprise. Her control wavered and sparks flew out of her fingertips shocking Kaz, he retracted his hand immediately and held it to his chest. "who are you?" Kaz asked, staring into her chocolate eyes that so clearly wanted to look away.

"Cassie."
