Chapter 26: Anxiety

Tony's POV:

"No, Happy I said 3:00. Of course I remember saying 3:00! Why would I say to pick me up at 4:00, that makes no sense. Alright fine, just get here as fast as you can," I said, hanging up the phone.

The press conference meeting in D.C. was normal; boring. Useless. But my mind had kept circulating back to Y/N. She lied to me. She put herself in danger. I didn't want her leaving the tower ever again.

I decided to call Nat to check on her.

"Hey Tony, hows the conference?" she said.

"Do you really want to know?" I asked.

"No, just being polite," she replied.

"How's Y/N?"

"She's been sleeping in her room for the whole day! Ive never seen her this...lazy," she said. Something didn't sit right with me.

"Yeah...she is never that lazy...do me a favor Nat and go wake her up," I said, a bit worried.

"I can't right now, I'm in the middle of a training session. Hold on. STEVE! Go check on Y/N and wake her up!" I heard Nat yell.

"Alright Cap is going to check on her, but is everything okay?" she said.

"It will he once I know that she is actually at home," I said, knowing that she wouldn't sleep this late.

"Tony what are you talking about-what? Steve, what do you mean?... WHAT?! Hold on Tony," she said, putting the call on hold.

"Nat get back to the damn phone now!!" I yelled.

"Shit. Tony I'm so sorry. She must have snuck out, I-"

"I'm on my way," I said, hanging up the phone. I asked them to do one thing. ONE THING. Keep track of a little girl and what do they do? Lose her.

I should have never left. That damn daughter of mine was gonna be the death of me.

When I finally arrived back at the tower, I ran inside to find Steve, Nat and Thor together in the living room. They all looked up when I came in from the elevator.

"Please, tell me you found her," I said, tons of worry in my voice.

"We've looked everywhere, her tracker is non responsive. She's just...gone," Nat said looking determined.

"And we've got another problem on our hands," Steve said, leaning to Thor.

"Loki's escaped. He is here, on earth. We have no idea where he could be either," he said. Shit.

"I'm calling the kid. You guys keep searching for Loki. With that bastard on the loose, who knows what could happen," I said while dialing Peter's number.

"Mr. Stark, uh, why you calling me?" Peter asked.

"Kid there's been an emergency. Do you know who Y/N is?" I said, trying to still keep Y/N's identity as my daughter a secret from him.

"Yeah... how do you know who she is?" Peter asked.

"She's missing. You know her, so you need to help us find her. Come to the avengers tower as soon as you can in your suit," I said before hanging up.

15 minutes later Peter swung himself to the Avengers Tower.

"Mr. Stark what's going on? How is she missing?" he immediately asked. It was clear the kid was worrying his whole way over.

"Kid it's a long story I'll tell you later, but we need to find her, and I-" I started to say before Thor came in and interrupted me.

"He took her," he said.

"What?" I asked.

"Loki. He took Y/N. I-I don't know where, however," he said. It all came together.

"Wait, who is Loki?" Peter asked.

"He wants revenge. From our first fight with him and he's taking it out on my d-on Y/N, and we need to find them, NOW!" I said, putting the pieces together.

"There's another thing...Loki came to me as a trick, to tell me he has Y/N, and that he would kill her..." Thor said. No. I felt myself going into an anxiety attack. I tried to run to my lab downstairs so no one would see it happening.

I reached the door, but collapsed onto the floor before I could open it. The one thing I tried to protect the most in the world was going to get killed because of me. I can't lose her. Her last memory of us would be our fight.

I pulled myself together and knew I needed find her NOW. Please, be strong Y/N. I'm coming.

I came back upstairs to see that Peter was gone.

"Thor, where the hell is Peter?" I asked.

"The kid got emotional and then left in quite the hurry. He told me he would find her if it was the last thing he did," Thor recapped.

"We need to find Loki. Any traces of him, you would know about. We all need to split up and find them in any way possible!" I told him.

Thor used his hammer to fly out of the tower and down into the city, where Nat and Steve were already looking.

I used my watch to bring an Ironman suit for myself, and I was off to bring my little girl home.
