Cassie and Draco went home for the Christmas holidays. Unfortunately, when she got home, she was met with a long lecture about behaving.

"Detention," Narcissa had said to her husband. "For dueling Marcus Flint outside the Quidditch pitch. Why would she want to mess around with that boy? And second, what was she doing near the Quidditch pitch?"

"Narcissa, she is free to play Quidditch if she likes," Lucius said. "Now, I know it's not a girls thing, but if she enjoys it, we should allow her to play. She's good on a broom. Have you seen her with Draco?"

"Lucius, this could be it, the beginning of the prophecy — finding love. It cannot happen," said Narcissa. "Imagine what betrayal it would be. I do not want her removed from the tree. I can't go through something like that again."

Lucius sighed. "We will raise her as we've been for the past thirteen years. Nothing can go wrong."

Once back from the holidays, Cassie sat on her four-poster bed. Across from her was Viola who was reading defensive spells. Beside her was Addy on her bed, staring at the ceiling.

"They were talking like they knew something I didn't," said Cassie.

"Are you sure you heard right?" Addy asked.

"Yes, I'm sure," she replied. "The start of the prophecy... They're keeping something from me. Draco doesn't have an idea either... But, I think I know someone who does."

Cassie ran out of her dorm, leaving Addy confused. She ran to Snape's office and knocked on his door. A few moments after, the door swung open.

"What is so important that you have to disrupt my work, Miss Malfoy?" Snape inquired irritably. "Please, enlighten me on what is so urgent that you must knock a hundred times."

"Sorry, Professor Snape, but I have a question," Cassie began. "Well, I know you were a — well, you were a Death Eater."

"Your evidence?"

"My parents spoke your name when I was— "

"Two years old, Miss Malfoy," he snarled. "Get out of my office!"

Cassie exited in a hurry. She sighed in defeat and walked towards the Great Hall for lunch.

"Miss Malfoy," said a voice. Professor Dumbledore stood before her, smiling. "Lunch is ending soon. I suggest you hurry before all the good food is gone."

Before he walked away, Cassie called out to him and he turned back around. "Yes?"

"I had a question," said Cassie. "I'm hoping you'd know the answer. I tried Professor Snape, but he shut me out, slammed the door on my way."

"Perhaps we can take this to my office," said Dumbledore, climbing the steps.

Cassie followed Dumbledore to his office. He said the password and the two went upward on a moving spiral staircase. She entered a large circular room that had many windows and portraits of other wizards.

"Would you like some?" offered Dumbledore. Cassie shook her head. "More for me then. So, what is it you ask, Cassiopeia?"

"My parents," Cassie began. "They talked about something — something about a prophecy. It was like they're hiding something from me. I was hoping you had an idea. Something happened when or before I was born and I'd like to know what it is."
