Prologue

Leya's POV:

I took a deep breath as I stared at the exit to the airport. My whole life was about to change - for the better, or the worse, I had no idea. Waving a final goodbye to my parents and my sister, I stepped out into the light. A throng of people stood in between me and the waiting taxi. Carefully pushing my way through the crowd, anxiety building inside the pit of my stomach, I emerged, slightly sweaty. Smiling sheepishly at the taxi driver, I dragged my suitcase into the boot, got in the passenger's seat, and gave him my aunt's address. As we pulled away from my old life, I remembered how badly things went last time. I hope this time I'll be okay.

The taxi driver had his eyes glued to the road, with a blank face most of the trip. Although I was aching to start a conversation, I could tell they would be very uninterested. So instead, I pulled out my notebook from my rucksack, a pen from my pocket, and flipped it to a new page. Now, what to write...
