we spent july evenings under a winter duvet,
with our bare skin colliding and our limbs entangled.
we spent june afternoons watching old cartoons,
when time was the only luxury we could afford.
we spent mornings in may surrounded by flower displays,
flipping pancakes to distract ourselves from deadline anxiety.
we spent days in april traipsing through countryside trails,
fingers sore from plucking guitar strings.
we spent half of march navigating the art,
of life in its simplest form.
how can it be that we spent so many months together,
and it never felt like enough.
the days passed us by and i wished i could pause time,
just to have more moments with you.
i could never tire of your presence,
we co-exist so effortlessly
and your essence is like a dose of serotonin.
i'm grateful for the time spent by your side,
every second is a blessing with you.
