Continuation...

'It all started on the coronation of Princess Blanches.Cheuk wanted all the wealth and he wanted everyone to know who he was and having the princess as his own daughter will only add to his fame. I overheard Cheuk assign Will a duty to kill Blanches in order for all of our debts to be cleared. He wanted Blanches gone. Of course, as you know Will was in love with Blanches and refused to accept the offer, but it seemed reasonable and okay for me to do. I wasn't in love with her, I didn't care if she was alive or dead. So I did, what I still regret to this day. Once the party had begun, I sneaked into her room and dropped a few drops of poison into her drink. But even after a few hours she was dancing, and having a blast. So I-uh I killed her-'

'Stop, stop. I don't want to hear anymore'  Arielle gasped, tears escaping her eyes. 'Stop talking please'.

'I've explained this far. Let me continue...Cheuk found out that Blanches was dead and continued to believe that Will killed her even after Will repeatedly denied the accusation. I never told Cheuk what had actually happened but I did tell Will' Alex continued, letting out a ragged, heavy breath. 'He was furious with me, and didn't talk to me for a straight year. But we were forced to talk after Cheuk lost an argument with Miya. She threatened to shut down his career if he didn't keep the mansion clean and dust free. She wanted helpers around in the house cause she thought it was a waste for someone to own a house and not take proper care of it. So Cheuk tried, but no one accepted his offer.'

Arielle turned back around to face Alex, sitting cross-legged and listening more understandingly now.

'Then Cheuk double-crossed is. He threatened to tell the world that Will killed Blanches if we didn't work for him for free and find servants for the house. Of course, it was Cheuk's idea to kill Blanches but since he's in the higher class no one would ever believe me is I spoke the truth. So Will and I went along with it. Talking but barely as we acquainted him. Miya wanted the house to be clean but she didn't mean it to be a slavery compound. Arielle, I was only doing it because it thought it was the right thing to do. I regret it heavily now, but I was stupid then and maybe I still am. But I was trying to protect him and I.'

Alex looked at Arielle. Her mind was a surging complexity.

'Please say something' Alex pleaded, slumping back against the wall with his head resting back.

'I-I cant belive you d-did that. You-I -I don't know what to say'

'I'm regretful of my past, alright. I hate myself for what I did'

'Y-you, but you betrayed Kaycee. Does she even know about this? Why did you tell on them?' Arielle questioned, raising her voice out of fear, anger and confusion.

'I know Cheuk's ways. As depsiseful and cruel as he is, he wouldn't dare kill someone's and ruin his name. I was scared he was going to hurt you if I don't say the truth'

Arielle slumped back, she didn't know if she should be made because he rattled out the kids or if she should be grateful he tried to protect her. Maybe a mix of both. Anger and Gratitude.

Sunday. (Present time)

'Serris! Sarah!' Cheuk called out, using his hands to echo the sound. The two daughters were quick to stand at his side, the eye bags under their eyes telling everyone that they hadn't gotten a  wink of sleep last night. 'I've got a surprise for you two' Cheuk whispered into their ear.

Serris nearly barfed as she smelt the alcohol in his mouth mingle into her nose. As for Sarah, she plugged her nose as discretely as possible, pretending to wipe it until their father had moved away.
