There's only a week before The Homecoming Dance and mostly everything is already settled in. Everything is going smoothly and great. The designs were beautifully made and displayed all across the gymnasium. The past week or two, I've been almost late to class a couple of times because of so many HOCO proposals happening in each and every corner of this mother freaking school and it's their fault if I ever get a tardy in my school record for no reasonable reasons.
Last week, Lily was asked out by, of course, Matthew. It was cute. He had a sign saying "Will you be my chick at HOCO?" It was cute but kinda cliché since I've already seen through Pinterest and Instagram while I'm scrolling through my explore page, but I'm glad he did something for her.
Even Rosie has a date to the dance. It was Blake Johnson who asked her since Sophomore year. It was cool and sweet. He was serenading her outside during our AP Literature. He just opened the back door and had the help of his friends, holding signs about him wanting to go to HOCO with him. It said "A. Be my date at HOCO B. Be my Girlfriend C. Both". I wasn't really paying much attention to the song that he was singing to, but what the heck Rosie said yes to him and It's a miracle from Heaven that she said yes. Well, technically she said, "Ehh, it's the last year of high school anyway. Might as well make the most of it while it lasts." and accepted the red rose he was holding. When Blake heard that, he was over the moon, he tackled Rosie into a hug before asking me to take a picture of them. But I didn't really let Blake off the hook, I threatened him with a death sign and that if he ever hurt, well let's just say it's not gonna be pretty like his HOCO proposal. When class sessions were back on, Rosie was just admiring the red rose with a small smile on her face.
"Lauren," I faked a cry. "We're the only ones who are single pringles. Rosie, the three of us were supposed to each other's date." I wiped a fake tear, accusing her of being a traitor.
We already went dress shopping last week and we got our nails done.
"We'll die virgins, Maureen." Lauren was also dramatically faking a cry. "We'll become dog and hamster ladies. But to be honest it doesn't sound so bad,"
"Bitch, don't drag our virginity into our lives being single." I retorted. "Nah, they can have their boyfriends. We'll just go shop for furniture for your room and go shopping for new clothes and shop all the stationary we want and the books we love to read."
"My room is kind of a mess right now," Lauren suddenly realizes. "I need a new organizer though, I accidentally broke mine last month and I've been wanting to change the set up of my room."
"Don't worry, girlie, I got you." I assured her, giving her a thumbs up.
It's a yearly thing that we do. Lauren asks me for help redecorating her room because she likes things to be always different each year.
I do have a little interior designer inside of me.
Lauren always has these color swatches or schemes she collects from hardware stores and just to see if it fits to her liking. She has a whole clear book filled with these color schemes. During the eight grade for her room that year we decided to do a zodiac slash astrological theme for her room, because I was really into astrology at that time and my obsessions with astrology and knowing everything about one's sign just kinda rubbed off on her.
"Oh-kay, we're off topic now." I said.
"Oh, right. Whatever." Lauren just brushed it off. "It doesn't matter if you guys have dates because I've got Maureen with me, here." Looping her arms with mine while I was eating my lunch.
"We'll just be each other's date and we'll go dancing with random guys without worrying about leaving out our "dates" all alone and then we can eat all the food we want, and did I mention that there will be a chocolate fountain at the dance," I mentioned.

Romance"So, let me get this straight," I looked at him weirdly, raising my hands slightly in exclamation. "You like me?!" I asked him in disbelief. "Like or like-like?" I really can't get my head to process his words at the moment. "Is it weird that I don...
