"Okay! Time to break it up guys, kissy time is over!", the DJ announced once the lights were back on. "And also we have some news, for our wonderful host was lucky enough to find his soulmate already! They're certainly destined for each other, aren't they?"
Chenle came up onto the podium, holding hands with a petite girl. Taking the microphone, Chenle pulled the biggest smile he could.
"Hello, I'm Zhong Chenle. And this is my soulmate, Li Xiu Ying", he gazed into the girl's eyes as he said the last few words.
They certainly look like a young couple in love, and very ideal too. They smiled at each other, already fond with one another although it was only mere minutes since they found each other. Well what can I say? It's the soulmate bond, after all.
"I have a rose as my soulmate mark, and she has a basketball as hers. How did we know it was us? Well, it was a feeling. A familiar feeling, like we knew each other for a long time already. And it felt everything..."
"...was just right", they said together.
"How romantic, now kiss already!", the DJ exclaimed.
Without any hesitance, they both leaned forward and shared a kiss under the moonlight that shone from the large window behind them. Cheers erupted from the crowd, happy for the two lovebirds.
"Wow, fate really does have its ways", Yeonri said, as she stayed in the crowd and looked at the young smiling couple.
"Mhm, who knows what life has in store for you", Jaemin stood beside her as they watched the whole ordeal together. Realising that he was still here, Yeonri looked down and felt awkward. It's not easy to forget who took your first kiss, after all.
In fact, it was already awkward for the two. Not only did they kiss, but they're also somehow friends. Well, they're not really that close but when it's your best friend's brother you're bound to talk with him at least once or twice.
Feeling the awkwardness, Jaemin fiddled with his fingers as a habit and looked around in hopes to find a savior maybe. But it was no use, since the crowd made it hard to find anyone. And it was suffocating to stay in the room, to be completely honest.
Feeling that Yeonri was also not fond of the crowd, he decided to push away the awkwardness and asked her. "Hey, do you want to get out of here?"
"I definitely do, but where to go?", Yeonri replied.
Jaemin smiled instead. "Just follow me", he pulled her gently by the wrist and manoeuvred his way through the crowd until they reached the stairs.
Walking up, it soon got less crowded the higher they went. The music was also hardly audible. And when they finally reached the top, Jaemin pulled opened the class door to reveal a dimly lit rooftop on top of Chenle's house.
"Here it is, this place will definitely have no one. Chenle only gives us the access to here after all, it's kinda our secret hangout", Jaemin explained as they both walked and inhaled in the calm breeze of the night.
It was a small makeshift garden, a tree had fairy lights dangling from it and a small table beside it. Few more plants around here and there, and a glass railing that Yeonri leaned on gently as she enjoyed the peacefulness.
"This place is beautiful, and definitely very different from what's happening down there", Yeonri chuckled. "But are you okay here? Maybe you want to join the party still"
"Oh I definitely would not like to, I'm not the biggest fan of such big gatherings like these"
"Really? I thought that you would love these as much as Chenle"
"Not really, it's hard having such a loud friend sometimes", Jaemin laughed. "I thought you would enjoy the party though, like my sister"
"Hmm nope. I much rather stay at home. It's crazy to see we have so much in common"
"I know right?", Jaemin stared at the silver hair girl beside her. "You dyed your hair too"
"Yeah, you look pretty with the blue by the way"
"Thanks"
Unlike before, the silence between them this time felt comfortable. Now that's quick character development, really feels like they knew each other for a long time huh?
They kind of did, considering they went to highschool together. And now they're even going to the same college. It really feels like fate is setting them up. Who knows what else might happen later on.
Oh right, only the writer knows :)
"Hey, did you get to find your soulmate mark?", Jaemin asked suddenly.
"Hmm? Oh, no I don't think so", Yeonri checked her arms and legs, only to find nothing. "Maybe it's on my back or waist or something", she shrugged.
"Yeah...", Without her knowing, Jaemin's eyes caught the sight of something. After seeing it, he looked down and smiled to himself feeling satisfied for some reason.
Found it.
"What about your soulmate mark?", Yeonri asked this time.
"No, I haven't found mine either. I'll check later when I go home", he smoothly said, as he moved his watch down his wrist. It didn't go noticed by Yeonri, though.
Silence again for a short while, until Yeonri took in a deep breath and started another conversation.
After all, they can't avoid this topic for sure, and someone obviously has to bring it up.
"You know, about that kiss...", Yeonri began. "Should we just pretend it didn't happen? If that's okay"
Jaemin looked at her for a few minutes, although it felt like eternity as Yeonri was left on edge. His gaze was hard to avoid, and Yeonri was thinking that he didn't like the idea until he spoke up.
"Sure, let's just keep this between ourselves. And forget about it"
Yeonri let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah..."
"Only between us two"
