"You never told me." He said, pacing up and down. "You have never told me. He's been abusing you for three months. Three months, Y/n! Three months! And you never told me?"
"It wasn't serious. All managers slap their employees once in a while."
He scoffed. "Yeah, you mean beat you to death?" He yelled.
I winced. "Please.. don't yell at me."
He softened. "I'm sorry." He knelt down to meet my eyes. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be. It's not your fault."
"Y/n."
I sighed. "He told me to keep it a secret. So I did."
"Okay, here's a word of advice: if someone is abusing you and tells you to keep it a secret, don't keep it a secret."
"He knows about our past, Cha."
"So?"
"He said he'd take me away from you."
"You being alive is more important!"
"I wouldn't have cared so much if you knew what we were! But you didn't. So I didn't tell."

There was a long pause.

"You love me, don't you?"
I nodded.
"Even after seven years?"
I nodded again.
"Well then." He said. "We better get to work."
I looked up at him, not understanding what he meant.
He held out his hand. "How would you like to be my girlfriend?"
I tilted my head to the side. "Well, technically, we never broke up."
"You moved away and didn't speak to me for seven years."
"Okay, I guess that counts."
"So will you be my girlfriend?" He repeated. I looked at his outstretched hand, and put mine in his.
"Yeah. I will."
"Great. Now that that's settled, you'll need to accompany me to the Korean Music Awards."
"Why?"
"Because. I'm nominated for an award, and that's where we'll be going public."
"Why are we going public?"
"I want people to see my girlfriend!"
"No, you don't."
"Why not? Give me one good reason."
"Okay, bet. What will people say if you told them I was your makeup artist?"
"Screw the people."
"You wanted them to know. Makeup artist? They're definitely going to think this is a hookup."
"They don't have to know who you are."
"The other members know."
"They won't tell."
"How can we trust them?"
He scoffed. "I've been with them for four years. I think we're good."
I raised an eyebrow. "Remember when Jinjin found us hugging?"
"...yeah?"
"He told everyone. Which is why they all smirk if they find out we're in a room together."
"They don't smirk." He said.
"Just because you don't see them, doesn't mean they don't."
"I don't get it. That has three negatives."
I sighed. "They do it behind your back, sweetie."
"Sweetie? Am I suddenly a teddy bear?"
"Definitely more muscular, but if we're talking about your personality, then yes."
"So you have seen me shirtless. On Google."
"No. I can feel it whenever we're close."
"So... do you have a six pack?"
"No."
"...can I check?"
I brought his hopes up, then crushed them under my heel. "No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"We haven't even kissed yet."
"Oh yeah. How about we kiss now?"
"No. It's.. not the right time. I want it to be special."
He looked down. "Oh." Then he looked up. "Oh!"
"What?"
"How about we have our first kiss during the Korean Music Awards?"
My eyes widened. "No. Way. Not at all."
He chuckled. "Why not?"
"What the hell do you mean why not?"
"I can even see it. You in a pretty dress, me in my usual suit and tie, kinda dancing, then we kiss."
"Why can't we kiss sometime else?"
"Like when?"
"Like your birthday. It's coming up soon."
"Yeah, but it's after the Music Awards."
"So?"
"And... I kinda-sorta-maybe posted on social media that I'll be introducing my new girlfriend during the Awards."
"Cha Eun-woo. You know what, this situation needs your real name. Lee Dong-min. What. Did. You. Do."
"It's okay! It only has..." he checked his phone. "...two.. million.. views! That's not bad!"
I grabbed the phone from him. "This has twelve million views! And you posted it this morning!"
"My fans are ... nice."
"More like mean." I scrolled through the comments, which consisted of people (mostly girls) calling me a hoe, thot, and a piece of shit.
"O-okay. So the comments don't really like the idea."
"Like I said before, screw the people."
"Like I said before, you wanted them to know."
"Okay! Okay, I'm sorry."
I sighed. "You'll introduce me during the Awards, we'll kiss for your birthday."
His face brightened. "Really?"
"Yeah. At least I won't have to buy you something. I'm broke."
"Yeah, right. I'm so annoying to work with. You've gotta be rich by now."
"If I'm rich, I won't be here."
"Good thing you aren't rich. I really want you."
I raised my chin. "You 'want me'? What's that supposed to mean?"
"I want you. That's what it means."
"How... how exactly... do you 'want me'?"
"I want you so bad I don't have words for it. I just want to kiss you forever and ever and never let go. I want be one with you, be together with you. I want you to be mine. I really, really want you. I really need you. Not because I need someone to make me presentable, but because you're my other half. You are the reason I come to work every day. I want to wrap your waist around my arms tightly, so you wouldn't escape again. I.. don't really know how to explain it."
"Where... where did all of this come from?"
"It's been here. Since we had that hug. And you asked me what was wrong."
"Yeah, but, this is stronger than I thought it would be."
"My feelings are in bulk. That's why I can write music so easily. If you ask me what anything is, I would explain it in long sentences in poetic format."
"Then, let me ask you. What is love?"
"... that's the only one I don't know."
"You've literally written so many songs."
"Yeah. But you are my first girlfriend."
"Yeah, so?"
"So. Teach me."
