Her heart stopped.

Everything made sense now. Well, mostly.

She hadn't talked to Mon-El since they parted ways years ago. She didn't know if he'd still be willing to forgive her after the way she spoke to him as Supergirl.

~~~~~~~~
"Alex! I need your help!"
Alex whipped around, and, seeing her sister in a panic, she gestured to the balcony, and Kara simply nodded.
As they made their way over to the corner of the balcony, out of the way of any incoming flying aliens, and she smiled at anyone who looked their way.
"What's up?"
"Is Valor here?"
"The . . . Daxamite?"
Kara gave a curt nod.
Alex shook her head, "He left two days ago."
Kara swore under her breath
"Do you know where he went, though?"
Alex shook her head again, "He said he was going home. Maybe talk to him when you next fight crime together."
Kara sighed. That was for the best. She had some words for him.
~~~~~~~~

"Where were you the past few days?" Kara yelled as both heroes were fighting against a few Dominators.

"I have a life too, you know! Not everything is me fighting crime!"

Kara sighed, tripping a Dominator before her fist met with its jaw in an uppercut. It growled at her, as she used her laser vision against them.

~~~~~~~~
Once they were done, Supergirl turned to Valor, "We need to talk. Now."
Valor just gave a sigh, nodding.
~~~~~~~~

Kara frowned as she faced the Daxamite.

"I know who you are."

"What do you - "

"I know who you are, Mon-El. The Prince of Daxam."

He seemed shocked. As if . . . as if he hadn't heard that title in years. Which he probably hadn't.

"So . . . you finally figured it out, Daughter of Alura. Kara Zor-El."

She chuckled, a weight finally off her shoulders. He knew who she was, and vice versa.

"We were such good friends back then, weren't we? How did we end up in this rivalry?" Kara chuckled.

Mon-El felt his cheeks warm a tad, her laugh was as joyous as he remembered. He grinned like a child, as he pulled the heroine into an embrace. "I missed you."

Kara took in his scent, "And I did you."

When they finally sat at the bar, Kara dared a glance over her shoulder. Mon-El noticed this. "Looking for someone?"

"Oh, just someone I met here recently. He's a Daxamite, too."

She could've sworn she heard his heart beat quicker, his breath quicken. "Do you . . . know him?"

"I know Mike. Mike Matthews. I . . . may have given him your . . . Token . . . "

"Yeah," Kara chirped, then abruptly stopped, "wait . . . "

"Yeah. But I mean, he really wanted it, so . . . "

I never said his name."

"Oh! I just assumed that you were talking about him. Plus, he's the only other Daxamite on Earth, working here . . . "

"I never said he worked here, either. I only said I met a Daxamite here." Kara eyed Mon-El warily. "Mon-El? Do you know something I don't?"

No secrets, he had promised Kara all those years ago.

"F-fine. Yes, I do. And you're not gonna like it."
