~ I use a song called "Times Are Hard For Dreamers" by Phillipa Soo, in case you want to listen to it when it's mentioned :) ~
BUCKYS POV
We came to the agreement that we would both move into my place, considering that she didn't want to be attached to her place anymore. My place was designed for one person, maybe, so it was hard to make space so we left some of the unnecessary things in her place just in case she still needed them. She convinced me to move her bed in since I had a twin mattress that was still on the floor and she had a queen bed with a frame. Well, a broken frame, so I upgraded to a queen mattress that laid on the floor. I wasn't totally keen on the idea of sharing a bed with her, because, again, everything happened so fast and we don't know each other well, so I've been on the couch for the past 2 weeks. She brought all of the food she had and suddenly my fridge and cabinets were stocked. I always had just enough to buy the bare minimum, plus, with the serum, if I didn't eat for a day, it wouldn't hinder me at all. My apartment was actually looking livable now. It looked like my life was actually changing. I mean, since we couldn't bring everything she had in here, it was just the mattress, some throw pillows, food and drinks, and anything small she needed. Other than that, the paint on the walls were still chipped, I had my shelving unit made of cinder blocks and plywood, and a small wobbly table near the door, a barely functioning fridge, a small closet, and a short hallway that just led to a bathroom. She seemed happier as the days went on. I still always stayed up watching the door as much as I could considering Simon knew who I was so I just waited for my cover to be blown at any second.
"Ya know, I never asked why you moved here." I said to Y/N, who was laying in bed, reading.
"I would say that that would be one of the first questions you should have asked me but, things kinda moved fast." she laughed.
"Very true." I agreed
"I moved here to ... escape. I was in a really bad place and after HYDRA took my dad I just wanted to leave, ya know?" She said.
"Oh, I know." I sighed.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to bring up-"
"No no...it's okay. Do you know what happened to your dad?" I asked.
"I just knew he was taken when I was 17 and then I saw him 5 years later but...different. He came to take me."
"Back to HYDRA." I stated.
"Yep."
"Did they get you?" I asked, cautiously.
"Well since it was my dad I was so relieved to see him I just ran and hugged him. Then he threw me in the back of a truck, someone stuck something into my neck and then I blacked out. The next thing I knew I was in a room that looked like the basement of some building, sitting in a metal chair with my hands tied. I remember some guy in a suit walked in and told the guys in lab coats to "wipe me" and then they stuck something in my veins and I remember feeling my body burning but, my dad kinda snapped and started going crazy in the room and started beating up every guard. Whatever they were injecting into my arms, I didn't get the full dosage. There were guns, the building caught on fire, it was a whole thing. I barely made it out because as I was at the door, my dad grabbed my arm and tried to pull me back in but when the fire engulfed my dad and started to get to the arm that he was holding, I pulled it away and then my dad was gone. That's when I met Simon. He took me in and I felt safe and loved and then he revealed his true colors but always told me that if I left...they'd find me and finish the job." she told me. I was in shock at her story but I felt connected to her. I looked down at her inner elbow and saw a white scar from where she was injected.
