JEANIE

𓂃 . 𓂃 . 𓂃 . 𓂃 .

Blue lights flashing outside my window was what officially woke me up from my slumber. Giving up on sleep, I threw the covers off my body and got the bed to peek outside my window and see who or what exactly is this lighting that is disturbing my sleep. Walking over to my window, I withdrew my curtains open to see what the fuss was about

And it seemed that a police van was outside Mrs Winter's house

Mrs Nadia Winter, a forty something lady with a husband who's job is to fight for our beloved America and does'nt get to see his wife for some time. No children in record, Mrs Winters could never deliver any children as far as the doctors hace clarified, my mother being one of those doctors. But rumours has it that last year Mrs Winters decided to adopt some trouble teen with an attitude to piss the devil himself, and I'm yet to see this mysterious troubled individual

As far as I could see the police officers were two and had with them a boy I couldn't exactly see his face, as the street lights had a shortage of light on his face. All I could see were his cuffed hands and his darl clothes and the police officers holding both his arms, I'm guessing its to keep him grounded so he can't escape

But what was he and the police doing at Mrs Winter's house this late at night? Could this be the troubled teen I've heard so much about and never got to meet?

The police moved him towards the door to which they knocked, and in a few seconds the door was pulled open and I could see the silhouette of Mrs Winters tugging at her white gown to keep her from the chill outside. I couldn't exactly see what the police where saying but I could see them pointing at the teen and Mrs Winters nodding

And in that moment there was a knock on my door and it opened revealing my mother who was still wearing her pink scrubs which means she just came straight from the hospital. I quickly closed my curtain and pretended that I was fixing my curtains and not spying on the scene nextdoor

"What are doing? Do you know what time it is?"

"Uh I was just ficing my curtains, the light from outside was blinding me" I lied straight through my teeth, but by the deadpan look my mother was giving me, I just knew she knew I was lying

"Right, so you were'nt peaking at Mrs Winters and the police outside?"

Busted

"I just wanted to know what was going on"

"It doesn't concern you, go to bed" she instructed and with a really relucted step, I moved towards my bed and only sat up with the covers on half my body. My mother moved ftom the door and came to kiss my forehead

"Don't go back peaking once I left, I know your curiousity level can get out of control sometimes. But it isn't nice to be poking your nose on someone else's business. I taught you better than that"

"I know mom"

"Good, now go to bed its late"

Even without school tomorrow my mother will be checking in on me to see if I'm not staying up all night reading or stalking Hunter on social media. Which sounds a litle creepy I know, but I swear its harmless browsing on his daily activitiies. Nothing too extreme, I'm not psychotic

"Alright goodnight then"

"Night sweeety"

As soon as she was out my door, I was out of my bed and rushing to lock my door so she don't come back and find me where she specifically said not to return to. But I'm curious to know what exactly is happening nextdoor, and who is that boy with handcuffs on his wrists

As soon as my door was locked, I was rushing to peak outside my window and it seemed like the police were leaving as the boy was now uncuffed and probably glaring at the retreating police officers. Mrs Winters was ushering the boy inside, which answers my question of whether this was the troubled teen or not. Guess he's not only troubled, he's trouble himself if he will be arriving tjis late at night at the back of a police van with cuffed hands

It was in that moment that my senses decided to act up and I sneezed loudly. The boy took that momemt to look up at my window and see me, to which I gasped and quickly closed my curtains

And decided to just call it a night and sleep, but how could I do that when the boy was roaming my mind all night

I seriously curse my curiousity
