Ever since Ginny and Harry were coming up with names for James, they had decided on naming their first daughter Lily, who ended up being their only daughter. The whole family was happy about this, and there was no need for arguing like what had happened with Al.
Lily's middle name is Luna. Ginny wanted to name her Luna after her good friend, who was always there, whether she was wearing her Gryffindor lion hat at Quidditch matches, or breaking into the Ministry. Harry, however, wanted to name her Luna after Remus Lupin. In Spanish, Luna means moon, and that was Lupin's nickname, Moony. To this day, there is still an argument over who Lily Luna was named after, where she just rolls her eyes at both of her parents.
