"Ikaw?"
He just continued staring at me, still keeping that annoying smirk on his slightly tilted face.
"Ikaw 'yung nagnakaw sa pera ni Lolo!"
"How could you tell?" He countered and raised one of his eyebrows before he stepped his foot front.
Nanatili ako sa kinatatayuan ko habang hindi niya iniaalis ang titig niya sa mga mata ko kaya't pinanatili ko rin ang akin. Hindi ako magpapatinang sa mga titig niya 'noh.
Kagaya nga ng titig niyang 'yon ay nanatili rin ang kaniyang nakakainis na ngisi sa kaniyang labi.
"Don't try to deny it. It's your cloak! Sabi niya sa'kin ay nakasuot ng itim na kapa ang taong nagnakaw sa kaniya."
"Ako lang ba ang tao ritong nagmamay-ari ng ganito?" Again, he stepped a foot front, moving out from the more shadowed part of the area. The near streetlamp gave enough light that I could see his downright gorgeous face clearer.
I tried to think of words to oppose him, but I just can't weave them properly. I parted my lips but ended up pursing them together again.
"Cat got your tongue?" He stepped again.
"I just know! I-It's you!"
He made a soft chuckle. "You cannot just accuse me with just that, darling."
Damn, the way he uttered his words mellifluously and a bit alluring made my heart skipped a beat. Not to mention that smirk on his tempting lips while I was more hypnotized by his enthralling eyes.
Naglakad siya papuna't papalapit sa akin sa maangas at bahagyang mabagal na paraan. Dahil sa katahimikan sa paligid ay rinig na rinig ang paglapat ng kaniyang sapatos sa sahig.
Dahan-dahan pang nagpabalik-balik ang mga titig niya sa aking mata at sa aking labi.
I hardly swallowed the lump in my throat while I kept my eyes staring at his. I'm trying my best to keep this stare.
If only I had a choice, I would remove my gaze into him. Dahil sa totoo lang, sa bawat segundong tumatagal na nakatitig ako sa mga mata niya ay lalo lamang akong nahuhulog sa gandang taglay nito.
But if I did, that would mean defeat for me.
When we got closer and closer, my foot automatically stepped backwards because if I didn't, we'll just bump into each other again.
"Ano ba!" Inis kong singhal nang ipagpatuloy niya pa rin ang paghakbang.
"Ibigay mo na lang kasi sa'kin 'yung pera!"
"How am I going to return something that I didn't even steal?" Sa wakas ay tumigil na siya sa paglalakad. And that's when I only realize that I'm already standing a few inches from the near-wall behind me.
"H'wag ka nang magsinungaling!" I yelled. "Just give me the money already or else..."
His smirk went wider. "Or else what?" His eyes were pinned on my lips as he stepped his foot front again.
"Or else, ako ang makakaharap mo," I warned and tried to sound intimidating. I stepped front while I countered his teasing eyes with a glare. Nakatingala pa 'ko para pantayan ang titig niya sapagkat mas matangkad siya sa'kin.
Now we're closer than ever.
But what the hell was that? Ang corny naman ng mga binitawan kong salita, it's not strong enough to scare him.
"Hindi ba kaharap na kita?" He taunted. My teeth gritted in annoyance.
"F*ck you," I asserted right on to his face.
