Katsumi POV-
"I'm throwing a holiday party!"
"Are you sure that's a good idea? Someone here is a criminal on the run from more criminals." Madonna said, glaring at me. I ignored her. I can't let her get to me. Shigeri didn't seem to care what she had to say. "Maddie, don't be mean. I'm tired of all the tension every time I hang out with you guys. If we want things to return to normal, we have to start acting normal. What happened in the past is in the past. You're all still alive aren't you?"
"But what if-"
"It's been almost a month, if they thought we were hiding her they would've showed up already."
"Shigs is right. I can tell you from experience that they don't waste time on purpose when it comes to things like this."
"Fine, I just want you to know you better stay as far away from Rio as you can."
I raised an eyebrow. "Oh so you're calling me a criminal AND cheater? I'm not the one who got back with her ex less than an hour after she broke up with her girlfriend."
"That doesn't mean anything!"
"Ladies! Stop! Enough of this." Shigeri pushed us both apart. "You two need to at least respect each other."
"She nearly got me killed!"
"She replaced me!"
"I wouldn't call Rio a replacement, I would call her an upgrade."
"You have no idea how hard I'm trying not to be harsh with you two. You make it so hard to get anything done. I'm not asking you to get along, I'm asking you to be respectful. There's a difference. You don't have to talk, and when you do, you don't have to insult each other like this. I'm throwing a party, you don't have to come if you don't want to." They sighed. "Honestly, I don't think either of you are over this. But I'm not gonna talk about that now. You're already upset enough." They stepped back and sat on the bed. "You guys can go home if you want, tell Elvis I said hi."
I nodded, I don't even know why I stayed here anyway. I made my way out the house without saying a word. Once I'm outside, I find somewhere to hide so I can call Elvis. "Where the fuck were you?!"
"I'm sorry, okay? Why are you so mad? Did something happen?"
"Yeah! Your sister happened!"
"Katsumi, please, don't take it personally. You know she's just mad."
"And she has every right to be but for fucks sake! Some of the stuff she says doesn't even make sense. She told me to stay away from Rio like I'd hurt her or try to steal her. Like- the fuck? Since when have I ever done something like that? It's not something I would do either. She knows that, she knows me."
"Why do you care about if she knows you? She doesn't want anything to do with you?"
"Then why won't she shut up when she's around me?"
"Does it look like I know? You have to ask her, and I know you don't want to so you'll never get the answer. Just get your shit together and focus on the end goal, it'll all be worth it later."
"Are you sure about that?" Said a little voice in my head. I wanted to say yes so badly. I don't know what I want anymore, I don't know what I should be doing, and I don't know where I'm headed. I'm in the backseat of the car in my life and I can't tell who's driving. "...Okay." I hung up, not wanting the conversation to go farther. I sat in the bush I hid behind for a few minutes, really contemplating everything. Is it worth it? What's the worst that could happen? So many questions but not a single answer. I can't handle unpredictable situations like this, why did I even decide this was a good idea?!
