chapter 23: redemption of the sith

After breakfast Asa went back to Poe's cabin with Amer. Rey was thinking long and hard about what Asa had told her. That she was ready to change, and she'll do anything to prove it. Ben walked into Rey's room taking a seat on the bed next to her. Rey jumped up "I've got it" she yelled. Ben was rubbing his ears as she had hurt with her high pitched squeal. "I got it, Asa can help us build the huts. It's perfect, one time during the building you'll stand ready with your saber and ill give her the perfect chance to strike me down. If she brushes it off well give her, her hands back or we'll robotic ones. Maybe even give her some training and-". "REY ARE YOU CRAZY!! She's the enemy, and you want to TRAIN HER!! Plus I'm not going to just give her the opportunity to strike you down. Although, we could really use the help, and I'd be lying is I said I didn't sense a little light in her. *sigh* fine I'll go over there and invite her to help us." Be saod, still upset of putting Rey in danger.

*knock knock knock*
"Who's there" Ben heard a voice say through the door. She had some fear in her young voice, but it didn't sound as corse as earlier. "It's me, Ben, I was wondering if you could join us and help us build huts for our friends coming later today." Asa was super excited and said yes repeatedly out of excitment, but Ben must have misinterpreted that for excitment to kill someone because he said "calm down calm down, we're only asking because of the deadline." She did as he instructed and calmed herself. She nodded to him through the window and he left. She was not just excited to help, but she was going to help the kyle ren, a galactic legand. Not that Rey wasn't a legand amongst her side, but to Asa, Kylo was the coolest. She had always looked up to him and now is her chance to make a good impression on him.

Rey, and Finn were already out gathering supplies to start building their first hut, such as rocks and flat stones. There was a question Finn always wanted to ask Rey but never had the courage to, but now he knew the answer. A brother. She loved him as a brother. Finn wasn't sure how he loved Rey anymore. This naive little part of him is saying he loves Rey to death like that, but the other part, the part with common sense is telling him she's a grey jedi Knight, and she loves Ben Solo. It felt like a double punch in the gut whenever he thought about Rey, but the pain started drifting away when he remembered Rose, and her determination. He didn't remember much of her, for they hadn't talked in 5 years, but what he did remember made him happy. Like when she gave up her sisters special necklace for the sake of a mission. When she stormed the stupid cantina and set all of the creatures free. Those moments made him love Rey like a sister. "Hey you okay" Rey asked her friend who was deep in thought. "Yeah, yeah I am okay, I'm okay with everything".

After collecting the supplies they needed Ben joined them and Rey started placing rocks on top of each other while Ben glued them in place. They have successfully finished the bottom part of a wall. 3 and 3/4 left to go. Just then Asa came by and wondered what they were doing. "Um you guy's are jedi right?" she spoke with a hint of sass in her voice. Rey and Ben didn't know if they should be insulted or not but they nodded anyways. "Technically we or I am a grey jedi and he will be one, soon I guess" Rey said with no confidence. Truth be told, she was having a difficult time keeping up with Bellan's progress and Ben's. "If you two are such powerful grey jedi then couldn't you just lift all the rocks with your mind and hold them while another person glues." She was.. right. What were they doing, trying to finish something the normal way. As a slowly lofted out her arms, (not her hands) and lifting the rocks with her mind. Rey was stunned she could do that with no hands but even more stunned by the flashback she just had of Luke telling her what the force is. She laughed to herself  saying "lifting rocks, who knew". Rey moved over and joined Asa in lofting the rocks. They had almost formed the whole hut in 10 seconds. Ben and Finn lifted up the glue cans. Finn doing it regularly as fast as he could and Ben using the force to drag it across the stone. Rey and Asa were growing tired but they pushed on. Ben and Finn had finished, with Ben doing most of it at lighting speed.

"Well that's one, 1 more to go". Ben had forgotten about Poe needing a new hut, another thing he would have to tell her that she won't be pleased about, Bella can stay in hers and Chewie can keep staying in the falcon." Rey didn't like where this was headed, stuff like this was normally followed by a but. "Buuuuuuuut, they are umm, well... Their kinda bringing a doctor who is force sensitive who saved Bellan and he's coming with them at the end of the day, sooooo more of a challenge then we originally thought" Ben said nervously hoping Rey didn't notice how scared he was of her at the moment.

Rey was growing angrier by the second not by what he had just said, but by the fact he was scared of her. Finn however really enjoyed whatching Rey scream at him with only her glare and clenched fists. They couldnt speak, but they had said enough. Now she was going to have 3 apprentices. This was getting out of hand. "Look I figured you could complete my training, and I could teach the man while you continue to teach Bellan. To be fair, it made a lot more sense in my head, I was only thinking about getting more help against Palpitine and his next assassin. It didn't occur to me we'd have to build huts and start and complete my training in one day. I'm sorry Rey." After Ben had finished speaking, Rey was slightly less annoyed, and she was grateful for his apoligy, this was a truly changed man. She nodded, smiling at him and Finn she began to say, Asa and Finn you hold the glue, Ben and I will *snickers*... lift rocks. What are you waiting for come on."
