Dixie was "created" on October 1st, 1861. He "died" May 13th, 1865, at the battle of Palmito Ranch.
Now this was never an official flag of the Confederacy- it was only a battle flag. Dixie represents the average soldiers who fought in the war, because he was never really in charge. He was more of a military dog than anything. Being stuck in America's head all of his racist beliefs no longer exist. They all died off during the 60's, so he clung to them for a while. He was in America's head for around 155 years.

Let me be clear: I am not trying to erase the racist history of the south. The way I characterize Dixie is for the sole reason that change and redemption exist, and that the American way is to be the change in the world. America brought a change out in Dixie, even though it took time, blood, sweat, death, and tears.

This flag is known by many names, them being the Southern Cross, the Dixie flag, Rebel flag, and the Confederate battle flag. America named him Dixie and it stuck.

now we got mini lil shrunkin down Stars and the Bars here

now we got mini lil shrunkin down Stars and the Bars here. he was the first official confederate flag. he's actually kinda a nice guy (hes a horeible guy). he was eventually rejected for looking like America, and got replaced by Stainless, aka Bloodstained. Stainless killed Bloodstained, and he is dead for good.
