Golden rays flitted through the open drapes, shedding light on the Italian curled up in bed. Tears stained his cheeks as the faraway look in his eyes focused on a spot across the horizon. The loneliness he felt settled deep in his chest, making him feel utterly abandoned. If only they knew how much it hurt him.

His emerald gaze studied the cuts lining his arms. Some were long scarred over while others were still scabbing. He looked to his drawer, knowing how easily it would be to pull out the silver blade and mark his skin once again. If only they knew how much blood he'd shed.

Something clicked for him, telling him what he must do. They wouldn't notice his absence from their lives. Half the time they looked right over him anyway. He reached into the drawer, pulling out the razor before looking around for something to write on. Though, he gave up shortly after. Why did they deserve a note with all they'd done to him. If only they knew what he was about to do.

His feet carried him to the bathroom, opening the medicine cabinet and getting out the pills. The bottle was opened slowly, giving him time to think through his decision. Even so, he knew his mind was made up. After filling a small cup with water, he set everything down on the counter and looked at his blade. Red accompanied the silver, shimmering against the cold metal. If only they knew how short his life would be.

Once the pills were in his system, he was quick to collapse. The small Italian's body spasmed as his breath left him. Yet, his frame had already stilled by the time his brother and grandfather entered the room, alerted by the loud thud. They froze in fear, knowing he was past saving. Tears ran quickly down their cheeks as they saw, carved in his arm, "Alone". If only they knew that this was their fault.
