The Beast, It Roars at Midnight
The villagers confirmed it.
So they moved away from the mountains,
Praying as not to suffer from a hit.

The Beast, It Roars at Midnight
So they lock their doors by six.
Families gather 'round the table,
Armed with bats and sticks.

The Beast, It Roars at Midnight
So they always kept away
From the thicket of the forest,
Safely tucked away.

The Beast, It Roars at Midnight
But the girl, she didn't know.
She wandered in at half past six
And then at twelve she heard the roar.

The Beast, It Roars at Midnight
And it was the girl who saw him first.
A gentle creature caught in nets
Struggling among the dirt.

The Beast, It Roars at Midnight
Its sound can still be heard.
But now it roars in longing for
A friend somewhere in the world.
