I was at our cookout waiting for my mate and her family to make their appearance. I couldn't get over her sweet smell when my hand gently wrapped around her neck or how beautiful she looked biting her lip looking up at me. My wolf puffed up in pride when that happened and I couldn't help but feel the same way. Something about having your mate so close but, still so far away was frustrating.

I had to break news to her family about what we were even though Aaron already knew what I was. Let's just say being roommate with someone for so long you tend to say and do stupid things. For us we got drunk one day after our finals and I spilled the beans to him.

Flashback

"Aaron I love you bro." I slurred leaning against Aaron who took a long sip from the Hennessy bottle. "I love you too bro. You're one of my best friends." He said his eyes  glazed over showing just how drunk he was.

I teared up a little knowing that this human was also one of my best friends but I'm keeping such a heavy secret from him that I can't stand it! I don't want to lie to my best friend anymore werewolf laws be damned "Aaron I have something to tell you." I said slowly leaning away from him so he could see how serious this was. Well as serious as someone who's drunk right now.

"Woah do you like me?" He questioned with a stupid grin on his face. I rolled my eyes so far back into my head I'm sure I saw my brain. "Dude no but this is serious and besides you wouldn't be my type if I dated guys." I said scoffing at him. He laughed and I couldn't help but join in.

"Alright tell me." He said passing the bottle to me. I took a couple of sips before taking a deep breath. "I'm a werewolf." I said. Of course as expected Aaron had laughed so hard he rolled off the couch clutching his stomach.

I let him laugh for a while and then he finally stopped wiping his eyes. "Man Bash you're one funny dude. You sound like my little sister. She absolutely loved reading werewolf romance books growing up." He said reaching for another bottle of Hennessy we had. "I'm dead ass serious Aaron."

Looking me dead in my face he said, "Prove it." As a future alpha being one who was never one to turn down I challenge myself to do the only thing I could do which was prove to him I'm a werewolf. In other circumstances I'm sure Aaron would have screamed his head off seeing his friend turn into a massive wolf right in the middle of their living room but, because he was drunk all he did was giggle and scratch my ears.

We both crashed that night in the middle of the living room, me still in my wolf form and him clutching the Hennessy bottle for dear life.

End of flashback

The next morning when he woke up to see me still in wolf form was only then when he started screaming like he was in a horror movie. We talked about everything that involves my wolf life and he vowed to secrecy that he would never tell anyone, not even his precious little sister about who we were.
