The next week went smoothly. Claire and I fell back into our rhythm and didn't mention what happened in Seattle.

We were working a little later tonight to make sure we didn't have to come in through the weekend. Tomorrow night there is an appreciation dinner for all the employees. It's a formal event that Fox Industries hosts every year to say 'thank you' to the employees for making the advancements in the medical field possible.

"Ok, it's drink time." I said getting up off the couch in Claire's office.

I walked over to her drink cart, and made her a martini, and poured myself a glass of bourbon. Setting her drink down in front of her, Claire looked up at me and smiled.

"Thank you." She said.

"You're welcome." I said.

"So Charlie will pick you up just after five, and you will be at my place at 5:30. That will have us arrive at the dinner just shy of six." She said.

"What do you want me to wear?" I asked her as I took a sip of my drink.

She shrugged, "A suit."

I smirked, "My birthday suit?" Her cheeks flushed as she chuckled and shook her head. "What color is your dress?" I asked her.

"Dark purple, why?"

"Do you want us to match?" I asked her.

"You don't have a purple suit." She said as she sipped her martini.

"I could find something and make it work." I said.

"That's up to you."

Claire's phone chimed, and she picked it up.

"Charlie is here. I should head home." She said standing up.

"Ill walk down with you." I said as I put everything in my bag.

I walked Claire to her car, then walked over to the parking garage and got in mine. The whole drive home, I tried to think of what I could wear.

...

It was 4:45 and I was lacing up my shoes. When I was done, I put on my watch and slid into my navy blue suit jacket. I have a shirt on that has purple, so hopefully we subtly match.

I walked into the bathroom and checked my hair one last time just as my phone dinged

Charlie: I'm waiting out front. Whenever you're ready.

I grabbed my keys, and locked the door behind me. I took a deep breath in the elevator, and thanked Charlie as I slid into the back seat of the two person limo.
