Darcey couldn't help but watch Tina during Glee Club

Darcey couldn't help but watch Tina during Glee Club. Yeah, it was weird, but she felt that she kinda had to.

Viewing when she would do her cute little laugh she always did, or when she'd run her fingers through her hair.

Darcey picked up on everything. And there was nothing straight about that. She'd picked up on how Tina would move before she turned her head, so she could quickly look away and pretend to look at something else.

Darcey was shook out of her state when Mr Schuester began the lesson. He drew a stick figure onto the whiteboard, with a speech bubble of him saying 'Hello'.

"Hello." Mr Schue started. "What do you guys say when you answer the phone?"

"What up?" Mercedes answered.

"Who this be?" Artie added.

"No, she's dead, this is her son." Kurt stated, making the room be more depressing.

"Okay. Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone, liked to say 'Ahoy, ahoy' when he answered the phone. It was Edison who decided that 'Hello' was a more appropriate greeting." Mr Schuester explained. "Look, I am really proud of what you guys did at Sectionals. But, as most of you have realised by now,  it hasn't made a bit of difference in your day-to-day at school."

"I have a slushie-stained training bra to prove it." Rachel spoke up.

"Fact is, we're going to have to be better, even more spectacular at regionals. It's time for some reinvention, some new, New Directions." Mr Schue announced. "We need a new... hello. Here's your assignment for the week: Come up with a fresh number, but it has to have 'Hello' in the song title. Alright?"

-----

"And that, my fellow Glee Clubbers, is how we say 'Hello'." Rachel announced.

Ever since Darcey and Tina had kissed, Darcey was scared, really, that was it. That she wasn't quite what she once thought she was.

And she was beyond terrified that, that was true. That she was gay.

Also, ever since it happened, she'd been actively avoiding her boyfriend, using terrible excuses to blow him off, for example: That she had homework, or wasn't really in the mood to do anything. He'd catch on eventually.

She sat in her room, pretending to do homework, so if either of her parents or siblings walked in to see what she was actually doing.

She did the most cliché thing that a girl figuring out her sexuality would do. She searched up an 'Am I Gay?' quiz, and took the test. She got 'Very gay' or 'Lesbian'.

Darcey sighed, and slammed the laptop lid shut. This wasn't very helpful to figuring it out, as she couldn't really trust a stupid test.

However, her mind quickly wandered to Tina. Her soft her lips were, and the sound of her laugh.

She jumped as the door of her bedroom opened, and her brother came in.

"What were you doing?" Max asked her, raising his eyebrow.

"Just, homework." Darcey answered, nodding frantically. She wasn't good at this.

"Okay... Anyway, dinner's ready." Max told her. Darcey's eyes went wide, and quickly opened the lid of the laptop. She'd been thinking about Tina for over an hour in her head, and she thought it had only been about five minutes.

"Um... I-I'll be down in a minute." Darcey responded. Max nodded, and ran back down the stairs. Darcey sighed again, resting her head on the edge of the desk. Maybe she was gay?

The next day, in Glee Club, it was Rachel's turn for the song.

"Alright, guys, we gotta get moving on those 'Hello' numbers." Mr Schue announced. "Who has something to show us? Volunteers?"

"Mr Schuester, I think I've found a song that sums up my feelings perfectly." Rachel spoke up, raising her hand.

"Fantastic, Rachel. Show us what you've got." Mr Schue nodded in her direction.

"Guys, guys, I don't want to be a buzzkill, but the assignment was 'Hello'." Mr Schuester reminded them.

"I'm sorry, I was just focusing on the first syllable." Rachel responded.

"You know what? I don't think you guys understand the seriousness of what we're up against." Mr Schuester addressed them. "While we were busy winning our sectional, Vocal Adrenaline was busy winning theirs. They're last year's national champions. They haven't lost a competition in three years. This is the big leagues, guys. If we don't place at Regionals, Glee Club is over."

Darcey sat in the auditorium, and she was ready to practice her song for Glee Club. Not like she could actually sing it in front of them, she'd be too nervous.

She picked the song because it reminded her about Tina, the fact that she couldn't be with her, even if she wanted to.

(It's a cover because I wanted a girl to sing it)

Darcey:

Hello, it's me
I've thought about us for a long, long time
Maybe I think too much but something's wrong
There's something here that doesn't last too long
Maybe I shouldn't think of you as mine
Seeing you, or seeing anything as much as I do you
I take for granted that you're always there
I take for granted that you just don't care
Sometimes I can't help seeing all the way through
It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for meThink of me
You know that I'd be with you if I could
I'll come around to see you once in a while
Or if I ever need a reason to smile
And spend the night if you think I should
It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for meThink of me
You know that I'd be with you if I could
I'll come around to see you once in a while
Or if I ever need a reason to smile
And spend the night if you think I should

As she finished the song, she heard faint clapping from the other side of the stage. She turned to see Tina walking towards her.

Her eyes went wide, and she quickly ran over to the piano, grabbing the stuff off it as fast as she could as she didn't want to have to talk to Tina.

"That was really good." Tina told her. Darcey ignored her, and quickly shoved the sheet music into her backpack. "Who was that song about?"

"No one." Darcey answered quickly. "I searched 'Songs with hello in the title' and it was the first one to come up." That was a lie.

"Oh, okay." Tina responded, and Darcey turned to face her.

"I'll see you in Glee Club." Darcey told her, before she walked past her, leaving the auditorium.

They all performed Hello, Goodbye together at the end of the week. Concluding their assignment.
